A better comparison would probably be a bigger prime Oladipo for Mathurin and Murray is a little harder to compare…

I think Murrays comp is Tobias Harris with the potential to be more of a Granger if it works out well, but I dont think he is as bouncy as Granger. I think Tobias is a better expectation.
I dont think Mathruian is as athletic as Vic. Dipo was a freak athlete, not sure there is a guy in this class that had his athleticism. Keon has similar athletic talent as Vic, just nowhere near the skill.
I think Mathurian is more of an Afflalo level talent. And thats a decent get around pick 10. Aaron from 25-28 was a upper level 4th option. I think Mathurian can have that kind of impact but for longer.

Re: tank thread
I really hope Ivey moves to #1 in the draft and onse other guy jumps into the top 4 during pre draft hype. One of Chet, Jabari, Paolo to pair with Grant is a nice starting spot. I would trade Keon and both seconds (and our pick) to get any of those 3 bigs...
From Portland to Reno to Vegas to LA to SLC and on to HotLanta. Winning at life. Too Blessed to be Stressed

Re: tank thread
I have a feeling this team really likes Keon and he was considered one of the main pieces coming back in the Powell+Covington trade. That doesn't make him untouchable but Blazers rarely trade young talent away that they feel could be a key piece in the future.
Now for the right deal he might get moved, or if they make a win now trade it might happen also.

Re: tank thread
As your tank has now successfully and officially knocked you out of the playoffs, I guess this is the best thread to put this in. The post-mortem series on the GB asks fans for their insights on the team's season and future direction. As the people who watch Portland game in and game out, your perspective is the most valuable and your poll answers will improve the quality of the graphs that will result from the endeavor.

Say the Blazers pick jumps to #4, would you trade that pick to the Lakers for LeBron if he asked out? It’s the most short term of short term trades, but it would give Dame’s final prime an interesting end…. Not saying I would do it, but…

If it's #4 and Jabari is off the table? Yes.

I wouldn't trade a prime pick for a 38 year old Lebron who would almost certainly walk at the end
of the season. I'd do it for AD

Would he walk though? What team would he choose over playing with Dame?
I 100% would trade the pick for LBJ. I have more interest in a ring than I do sticking to my hate of LBJ.
Bledsoe, Hart, Winslow, 6 for LBJ, Johnson
TPE + 37 for KCP
Sign OPJ for the MLE
Draft Tari Eason + Jamaree Bouyea
G - Damian Lillard (34) / Anfernee Simons (14) / Jamaree Bouyea
G - Anfernee Simons (18) / Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (30) / Vet Min
F - Otto Porter JR (24) / Nas Little (24) / Stanley Johnson
F - LeBron James (32) / Tari Eason (16) / Greg Brown
C - Jusuf Nurkic (28) / Drew Eubanks (20) / Trendon Watford
Run that for 2-3 years and full rebuild after. It doesnt cost future assets and it would be the best path to a ring we could hope for.

I would love to have LBJ but I dont see why Lebron would come here (he may feel this team is still worse than at least 3-4 teams like MIL, GSW, Suns, 76ers) Talent wise, he prolly thinks its similiar to what Lakers had this year. Also that starting lineup Defense is going to be horrible. 1,2, 4 dont really play defense. Nurk has times when he gets murdered (by quicker big men)
Also Nurk is not reliable. If he goes down its over with no legit Center.
I think hes much more likely to go back to Cleveland.

I just can't picture Lebron choosing Portland over Miami or his home town of Cleveland but I simply
prefer AD who is signed through 2025. Lebron seems to want to go to the GSW to play with Steph.

I can't really see a path for Lebron leaving LA to come to Portland so he can play with Dame, but I could envision Dame leaving Portland to go play with Lebron. But that would require either AD or Westbrook coming to Portland.
Lebron going to Miami is extremely doubtful IMO due to a fairly nasty divorce iirc, but Cleveland seems like a real possibility. Lakers have about as much flexibility as we had just a few months ago... likely less I think, with all their money going to just 3 players.
Ultimately, I think none of the above happens. (With my tin-foil hat on) I think we are waiting to see how those ping pong balls bounce, locking in the draft order, and we will then look to move Dame for a top 3 pick plus some other assets, resulting in 3 picks in the lottery and landing one of Chet, Jabari or Paolo.
Simons / Williams / Dunn
Hart / Keon
Little / Winslow / GB3
FRP(top 3) / Watford / FRP(Ours)
Nurkic / Eubanks / FRP(NO's)

I guess that’s more my question… blazers have a top 4 pick but a “unquestionable” / “shoe-in” future all-star is off the table… still some good players, some who will turn out to be amazing, buts you’re in a bit of crap-shoot territory.
To give Dame one last really “go for it chance”, I’d do it. Pick 6 can land you Brandon Roy or Martell Webster. I think as one last show of loyalty for Dame to give it a go, I’d do that over a relatively decent gamble pick.

Re: tank thread
If Portland had the fourth pick, one of Jabari, Chet or Paolo would be there at 4 for Jaden Ivey is considered
a top 4 pick.
It'd be tough to gamble everything on sentiment for that rookie picked at 4 will likely be a Blazer for the next
7-8 years

I can't envision a package for the Blazers that would make a trade for Westbrook appealing at all, Lakers have moved nearly all their 1st round picks for win now moves around LBJ+AD. They have garbage to trade us beyond AD and I have a feeling they will try to convince AD to stay no matter what.
Dame would have to be super adamant about wanting Lakers more than any other team and then we bend over backwards to make it happen. Even then I doubt it would be enough, since Lakers would have to go try to get more assets to really make the Blazers consider it.
Dame has given two teams he would play for if "Blazers didn't want me" Lakers and Jazz. I think the Jazz are a more appealing trade partner and they haven't mortgaged a ton of future picks already, like the Lakers did.

That might be the best comp yet. I also think a more athletic Warren w/o the injury issues is likely worth a top-6 pick. We always expect flawless 2-way guys with top picks but the reality is far, far different.
