lol? they got the result and look like they will get an easier group than canada. Hope the core group is healthy and on form for the WC next year and its a dangerous team. There is no dominate team right now.

Correct, because we’re a pot 2 team and Canada is pot 4. It’s likely that the group of death is whichever group Canada is in.

I’m not a Berhalter fan. Yes he got us to qualify and I’m happy we’re in a World Cup, but this team should have had better performances and consistency throughout qualifying and they didn’t, that’s a fact. We made it harder on ourselves.

We desperately need to figure out our #9. I love Dempsey’s preferred starting 11 for the first World Cup match, start Weah at the 9.

I’m also not sold on Steffen, hopefully he goes on loan so that he gets more reps.

Based on our performances during qualifying, I’d be ecstatic getting out of our group, no matter what the draw is.

To prove my unofficial dual citizenship bona fides, I decided to catch BOOMER Tim Tsyzu aka Joe Isuzu in fistic action. Alas, he met the canvas in round 1, so work in progress is my takeaway. My mans still won going away, so props for navigating adversity. Still, the kid is a tremendous body puncher and that will always find favor at Chonestown HQ. Definitely a mauler and leaves himself exposed (hey-oh), but that only ups the ante for excitement. 154 is a flawed division. Charlo is an iffy champ and the next-in-lines are either weak-hitting or defensively-porous. Could Joe Isuzu one day grab some hardware? Eh, sure, why not. Him vs say Erickson Lubin would be fun as hell, which means it will never happen.

The fight I wanted to see was the Top Rank card with Miguel Berchelt headlining. Kids, be careful what you wish for. Berchelt was an absolute wrecking ball at 126 before getting destroyed in his last bout in a 10-round TKO that should have been stopped 6 rounds earlier. He moved up to 130 and it was obvious he was a shot fighter within the space of a round. His legs were gone, his hooks were wild and wide, and his already iffy defense was even more threadbare. Within the space of two years, he went from one of the most exciting fighters around to someone was HAS to hang it up. Loma-Berchelt would have been a fever dream of an anticipated fight pre-covid. And now? He looked awkward, overmatched and physically in danger. Boxing is just fking relentless. Save for somebody in baseball getting the yips, there is no more sudden fall from grace than a spent fighter. You just about want to cry when you see it unspool in real time. Vaya con dios, hombre, your hands carried dynamite.

American is easily the worst. United is not that much better. Delta is awesome even if you generally pay a bit more.

Feel like flying at all right now is a gamble, and I've had at least minor delays for the most random bull imaginable the last 4-5 times I've flown. Who even knows if they are telling the truth.

But it did take me 36 hours to fly from Madison to Boise last August all because the stupid lady at the counter told me "oh you'll absolutely make the connecting flight" and she was, in fact, completely wrong. Was delayed in Chicago over 14 hours, finally flew me to ****ing Seattle and put me in a hotel for 1.5 hours (yes, I was going to the damn hotel for a shower), wouldn't let us get our bags, and when I finally landed in Boise the next afternoon, my bag was already there and locked in a room. Worst part is, they kept lying about the plane being almost ready for hours, bumping us 30 minutes at a time. If they'd have just told us it wasn't going to happen earlier I would've left and gotten good sleep. **** American ONE THOUSAND TIMES OVER. I honestly will not fly them again, ever.

I've flown American many times, always with great results.

I honestly think it happens to all of them, just luck of the draw.

Edit: I missed Luke's post. Basically the same thing.

While I agree, I've had many, many, many bad experiences with American. From random crap days like that, to plans that are freezing, to A-hole staff. By and large, they have been the worst I've had to deal with in a variety of ways.

I see Luke agrees. Maybe I've been lucky.

Just flew them to Puerto Vallarta and remarked to my wife that that was the best flight experience of my life.

Edit: I will say that I've mostly flown Delta recently and have been extremely happy, although I think they are much tighter on miles bonuses.

I may be biased, as I am a cardholder and flew enough to have status with them for three years, but I will do everything I can and go out my way to fly Delta. Regardless of who you choose, though, if you fly more than a couple times a year, everyone should try and pick an airline and stick with them. It pays off.

Probably a good thing Tim got sat down, he's been walking through guys and probably needed the reality check that it won't fly in serious fights.

Matt Turner should be in goal for the WC.

I will actually pay $50 to $100 (depending on total flight cost) for Delta over the rest. But your order is pretty good. Southwest isn't terrible either, but I hate the no assigned seats thing, I always get the last group and stuck in the middle. And at 6'4" it sucks.

So my wife's uncle brought over a bottle of McCallan 12 and watched the game with me last night and I think I'm still a little drunk.

I don't fly enough to get any real perks but I'll always go for non stop whenever possible. I'm not wasting vacation time in an airport any longer than I have to. So from Milwaukee that's usually Southwest. I'm also not crazy about their seating procedure but I like not having to pay any change fees. Many times the cost of my flight goes down, I rebook and I bank the difference in travel funds (have to be used in a year which is never a problem). Or if you need to cancel you get it all back in travel funds. I last flew Delta to Salt Lake City. It was fine
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

^^That is why I almost always fly out of O'Hare. I don't do layovers if I can avoid it. My wife booked our trip to Mexico. Never again. 4 hour layovers can **** right off.

Assuming Wales comes out of that playoff, US got a pretty rough draw in World Cup. England #5, Wales #19, Iran #21.

I had a terrible experience with United so now I just avoid them and pay whatever for the best available seats on any (non United) airline. I've really liked American.

Going off the rankings, sure. But FIFA rankings are usually garbage.

I am convinced that if anyone ever tried to show me how they could belch the alphabet I would last until "E" at the very latest before saying "okay, that's enough" and walking away.

I've had a prime brisket brining in my fridge for 10 days, and now I'm cooking it in a combination of beef stock, pickling spices, and guinness. Folks, the smells. My god.
