How Much Faith Do You Have In Brooklyn?

Post#1 » by dlts20 » Sun Apr 3, 2022 4:51 am

Seems like everyone was really high on them 10-14 days ago. Since then, they aren't nearly as bad but they are starting to look like Lakers East. As of right now they will have to win 2 play in games on the road just to make the playoffs. I actually think that they may go on a Lil run and get the 8th spot for the play in but that still doesn't guarantee the playoffs.

Idc what anyone says, there will have to be a Lil resentment for Ben if they get bounced without him helping. His history is always going to make people doubt what's really legit even if he is truly injured now. I hope that he comes back though

I'm not buying the idea a team who has struggled during the entire season will become a formidable contender all of a sudden.

First round exit if they make the playoffs.

I wouldn't be shocked if they lose in the play in, or make the finals, I'm sure most agree with that. Odd team with a ton of question marks but enough talent to win

They really need Ben to get back on the court.

About as much faith as Will Smith has in Jada.

If they had a better coach, they'd be scarier.

I would still not be surprised if they win out, get through the play-in and win a first round series, though. KD is at his peak powers and Kyrie has a serial killer within him, although not sure how Ramadan will impact his endurance.

Ι used to think they're very dangerous but lately they've shown that even with KD back they haven't really worked on team D or anything else really other than giving the ball to KD and Kyrie. From a strategy/coaching/scheme perspective is the most primitive team I've ever seen, like a bunch of guys at the park who got together 5 minutes ago.

Is that enough? Who knows, I doubt it, but we'll see.

I don’t think they scare the other top teams as much as they think they do. It’s a one trick pony even with two horses.

I'd be very surprised if they win the title, but not very surprised if they don't make the playoffs.

It was a pipe dream for the Nets to contend for a title after the Harden trade and no full time Kyrie.

No Championship comes together after playing 5-10 games.

They needed way more time.

Next year its possible. Healthy Simmons, healthy Joe Harris, full time Kyrie. Hopefully a new coach.

This year is lost.

If Simmons were healthy and acclimated I'd believe they were a legit title threat. As is I think they're going to lose in the first round.

Maybe. But if the Nets don't make the playoffs, Kyrie is the LVP. He'll get much more blame than Ben.

Injuries and chemistry issues all season two IMO superstars can win a play in and upset but not a title

They'll probably win out. The reality is that they are paper thin with their supporting cast. Massive defensive holes in that line-up right now. The Nets, if they ruin anyone's season, will likely take out the loser of 7-8 if they aren't in those positions.

In my humble, unbiased, nothing-to-gain opinion they should be realistic, accept their fate as a play-in team and rest their key players these last four games of the season.

40% chance bounced in one of the play in games
40% chance lose in the first round
15% chance lose in the second tound
4% chance they lose in the ECF
1% chance they lose in the Finals
0% chance they win the title

That looks about right to me.

Need a new coach (who isn't incompetent and doesn't ride KD into the dirt), roster needs to be rebalanced (front court redundance and basically no wings), need to get Ben healthy and integrated.

Sure it's been a nightmare season, but it's entirely self inflicted.

I think they'll either lose in the play-ins or get to the Finals. Anything can happen in 1 or 2 games, but if KD and Kyrie are healthy I can't really see any team besides Phoenix and maybe a healthy Warriors team beating them in a 7-game series.

Harden trade destroyed their chemistry , then Harden left , if Curry is ok i dont think they will have a problem in play in ,whom the play in 1st round ,i dont know but they are capable for the best and the worst.

If every one of Durant, Kyrie, and Simmons play, it's an easy title.

If Durant and Kyrie only play, they've still got a shot, but it'll be tough without Ben's defence.

If Durant and Kyrie aren't consistently available, then it's another first/second round exit.

I honestly have quit a bit of faith. We will see, I expect them to be a force, but east is packed, I honestly can imagine scenario where any east team loses in round one.
