I forget which pitcher slipped on his stairs last spring training and hurt his elbow?? It's kinda bizarre imho.
Is anybody here a marine biologist?

It was Robbie Ray last year who slipped and hurt himself, and missed a start or two.

Not so sure about offering some of our top prospects for 2 years of control for Ramirez. We will not be able to afford him once we becomes a FA. This team is pretty good without him. I'm good with Biggio/Espinal at 2B for now. We could fill that void (if it becomes one.) later in the season with a trade.

only if they sign him to a contract - which is probably the intent, no?

Re: Official Spring Training 2022 thread.
and so it begins. raimel tapia batting 6th ahead of matt chapman today. presumably because he's a LHB? raimel tapia hitting anywhere other than 9th is absurd.

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

Re: Official Spring Training 2022 thread.
Jays have traded Reese McGuire to the White Sox for another catcher, Zack Collins. Collins is optionable, which seems to be the attraction here.

Re: Official Spring Training 2022 thread.
Yeah, I'm guessing that the intent is to have him begin in AAA.
Collins has long been one of those guys who seems like he should be a better hitter (and he'd need to be: he's probably the worst defensive catcher in baseball). Draws a tonne of walks, and put up gaudy enough numbers in the minors that it was thought that he could make it as a 1B/DH/LF if his catching didn't improve. The power just hasn't been there whenever he has been in the bigs, though, and without power he's not a major leaguer.
