Spo moving Bosh to center was literally the start of small ball lol.

Bosh was 6'11 at least. Not smalball.

Bosh was a known pf his entire career before his second year in Miami. Starting Bosh at the 5 with Shane Battier at the 4 spot was the epitome of 'small ball'. People used to call us the Miami Midgets for a reason. Lol

During the title runs Spo would still play Birdman, who was primarily used as a Dennis Rodman-like rebounder. Plus he had LeBron who was a massive space sucker. And Wade. Bosh at 6'11 and having a postgame is a traditional center when compared to where Spo is at today with Bam and his crew of midgets.

It's literally what Dantoni started doing late in Houston with Siakam and Harden.

Yea he played him as a backup center just like we do Dedmon.

Siakam never played in Houston.

Not Siakam then, the guy that was traded to Atlanta.

Dedmon is ok. At least Spobotto still plays him.

Let the truth be told on the court!

I saw your gif. The Big Yurt is too good. The truth is being hidden from us for various cryptic, otherworldly reasons. We may never know why Spobotto has been given the program not to go big with multiple bigs.

It's pure hatred.

Spo has only slammed a clipboard twice in his career. One was against Yurtseven because he closed out on a made 3.

Spoiler:

No matter how many times Bam gets beat off the dribble, or Duncan misses a 3, or Dedmon fouls out in 14min, none of that bothers him more than seeing a traditional big thrive in the NBA.

Exactly. If only Yurt didn't have a legit post game and played more like a guard. Then Spo wouldn't see him as a lesser human.

This is the definition of gaslighting.

Holy hell thank you for the laugh.

The rest of y'all just keep arguing about **** we cannot control, day after day. I get both sides. Spo's way has led to success. Playing Yurt yielded fantastic results playing drop coverage on D before Bam came back. Oh well, he's either shipped out with Duncan this summer or he's our backup next season to replace Dedmon. He can't play together with Bam if Spo is sticking to what has been working for him; small ball. He likely won't change that unless we're eliminated in the 1st round of this playoffs.

First 50 win season in 7 years without the Big 3 <- SUCCESS!

Spo's record without the Big 3. How many times would any other coach get fired by now? <- SUCCESS!

Image

Losing to the hobbled Warriors playing their worst basketball of the season and preventing them from having an 8-game losing streak <- SUCCESS!

Image

A 4-game losing streak at the end of the season capped off with a 40pt deficit to the Nets <- SUCCESS!

Image

Yet another star player angry at him and his losing system <- SUCCESS!

Id say he was an above average coach but since even he admits to "luckying" into successful lineups due to injury and not his intuition I'd say he's an average coach.

If Spo wins a title this year that certainly elevates him to an above average, maybe even great coach.

My dear Spobotto.

Save souls Spo...I mean, save Spo's soul from the Dantoni virus!

Maybe Spobotto wants Riley out so he can be president himself. Not playing Riley's signings can quicken that process.

Pure speculation but it makes sense.

The clipboard, the benching....

Yurtgate is an ill-motived play for the presidency.

"Make Riles look senile and ascend to the throne."

This wasn't even about the championship. At all.

Is Wade in on this? Utah?

How far does the rabbit hole go?

No, what? You legitimately said something that was funny af. "No matter how many times Bam gets beat off the dribble, or Duncan misses a 3, or Dedmon fouls out in 14min, none of that bothers him more than seeing a traditional big thrive in the NBA." It's funny because it's true! I'm not disagreeing with you or making fun of you at all. I've been on the BamSeven bandwagon forever. I've just accepted what it is. I hope something changes so he can play, but good best chance at that is if someone gets hurt or next season.

We've been a perennial playoff team with spo at the helm. Making the playoffs matter more to organizations than just records (more games, more money). Playoffs > 50 win seasons. There were western teams that had better records than some east teams and couldn't make the playoffs. Not to mention the myriad of injuries at the worst times. Luck of the draw I guess especially because it took covid, and before that 2 goats and a hof to make the finals. It's just how it goes. If we weren't making the playoffs, yeah, he'd be fired. He's recognized by people that are more qualified than us as one of the greatest coaches of all time. He's not Pop, but it could be worse.

I agree, he's not a bad coach. He's not a coach that bends the knee to his players, etc.

But has he sold himself short with this smallball stuff?

Time will tell.
