I voted Monty. Jenkins is totally worthy too, I'd be fine with either winning and honestly had trouble deciding. The Suns have a really good team culture and that starts at the top with Monty. Unselfish basketball, everyone plays hard, guys go out and they just keep steamrolling. Never any drama, everyone plays smart basketball. They win close games & have the best record in the league. Doing that while nobody on their team is top 5 player is really impressive.

I was less surprised by The Grizzlies rise than some I guess, watching them last year I thought it was obvious they'd make a leap this year. Obviously credit to Jenkins, but I thought he laid a lot of the ground work last year and reaped a lot of the rewards this year, it's not the 1 year turn around some make it out to be.

Both guys deserve it.

Tyron Lue should be, but probably won’t win it. He managed to will a team to a play-in despite having his best duo not available and a trade during the season.

Not sure who deserves it the most but whoever it is it’s not even close.

In terms of pure coaching, it's hard to see an impact greater than what Finch has brought Minnesota. He came in midseason last year from outside of the organization and immediately improved the win percentage. This year, they've taken an even bigger step forward despite minimal changes to the roster.

That being said, it's going to be hard to beat Monty. Not just as retribution for last year. But you could argue that this has been a better coaching job than last year. Interesting that only two players have missed less than 12 games this year: Bridges (0) and McGee (8). Last year, Paul, Booker, Bridges and Ayton all missed 5 or fewer games.

Memphis has been impressive (especially considering Morant missed 22 games), but I think it's worth mentioning that they added in a talent like Jaren Jackson this year who only played 11 games the year prior. There's credit due to Jenkins for his reintegration, but it's still Jackson's return having an impact possibly as much or more than any coaching ability necessarily.

Haha - this. I love how people giving their opinion in this thread followed by "and it aint even close". Then another poster gives a different opinion followed by "and it aint even close".

In other words ... ... it's close?

Don't know if that has as much to do with it as...

... the Suns are +7 games on everybody else.

Spoelstra, for sure, he kept winning with any guy he had, with or without the stars. He can make any Heat G leaguer buy his system and make them valuable pieces for the team

I voted for Monty because the last 2 years have been amazing. But I am on board with Jenkins as well.

So many good choices this year. Because of that fact I think Monty wins it because of the Suns dominance.

I'd be fine with Jenkins, Spoelstra, or Monty.

Consider one that Williams should have got it last year but did not. That' was bad. That is going to play a role. Two you have to reward something with this Suns team. They have the best record by a good margin. The one thing making it close is this recent stretch with Memphis winning so much and the Suns finally losing. I think that is what is making it close. I think it is kind of a toss up now.

And it also shouldn't just be "turned around a team" or "# of games improvement".

I know Kidd won't win but he deserves a little more consideration then he's gotten. He's turned the Mavs into a top 7 defense in the NBA without anyone that will sniff an all defense team, no interior shotblocker after KP was traded, and turned players that were considered defensive liabilities into average or even good defenders. THAT is coaching. Not to mention having only one star in his team, literally no other player that even sniffed all star consideration, and still having a better record then most of these coaches.

Another that won't win but I wanted to shoutout is Lue. I know they're just the 8th seed but what he's done with freakin Reggie Jackson leading the team for most of the year is remarkable.

It prob will be Jenkins. I didn't think he would be this good when he started out but he proved me wrong in spades. He really has made the Grizz good where it's sustainable. I thought we were going to be a .500 team before the season so I am enjoying the ride.
