Look for Barnes to be 3rd

When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

The top 4 of this class is pretty insane. The chances are pretty good that all of them make at least one all-star game.

4. BARNES: 35.5 MIM, 15.5 PPG, 7.6 REB, 3.5 AST, 1.1 STL, 0.8 BLK, 49.1 FG, 30.1 3PT, 73.2 FT, 55.1 TS

I think so.

And you can't discount the fact others like Giddey, Kuminga, Wagner, Sengun etc could also be borderline all-star guys at some point as well.

Could add Davion Mitchell to that list as well. Post ASG he's been looking pretty good.

What time do they typically post the rankings? I can't see how Mobley or Cade could be above Barnes this week lol

This will probably go down as the deepest draft in the last 30 years. The 1996 draft comes to mind in terms of overall depth.

Like another pointed out, other than the 03 draft could be deepest since 1996.

The thing too is that there was no headliner prospect in this draft. It was just deep with talent. I still remember saying if there is a year to tank this is it for this draft.

Don't forget about 2009 - Curry, Harden, Griffin, DeRozan, Holiday. 2011 had Kawhi, Kyrie, Butler, Klay, Kemba. 2013 had a lot of really good players, but no superstars.

Definitely best since 1996. The 2003 was extremely top heavy and by that meaning only the 4 of the top 5 drafted and there was nothing to write home about for the rest of the draft. In terms of the balance between impact in their rookie year and their playing careers, 1996 is the best comparison (though 2021 doesnt have anyone like Iverson) and hopefully that bodes well to predict their playing careers. 1996 brought in a new post-Jordan era of NBA superstars and then came 2003 and hopefully 2021 becomes the new post-Lebron era of NBA superstars!

OakleyDokely wrote:The guy dropped 19/14 on only 13 shots and without many plays run for him. This is his FLOOR. Right now, he's basically just a roamer out there who gobbles up random opportunities in transition and in the paint. His touch/finish around the rim is already strong, if/when he develops a consistent midrange game, it's all over.

fwiw away from the basket

Barnes is

50.8% from 0-3 feet
39.6% from 10-16
36.4% from 16-3P

So he's shooting at least near 40% from inside the arc

Cade is

44.0% from 0-3 feet
43.8% from 10-16
31.4% from 16-3P

Green is

22.6% from 0-3 feet
34.5% from 10-16
40.0% from 16-3P

Franz is

45.5% from 0-3 feet
31.0% from 10-16
23.5% from 16-3P

Mobley is

36.8% from 0-3 feet
44.9% from 10-16
33.3% from 16-3P

Kuminga is

44.5% from 0-3 feet
29.4% from 10-16
28.6% from 16-3P

In short, there's an actual argument that Barnes might be the best inside the 3 point line scorer here.

I think Cade will be the best mid range scorer tbh as he's shooting 40% from 3-16 feet and his college stats indicate that he can stretch that even further, as he was a 40% shooter from 3 and has a very good FT%. Obviously though Cade cannot physically overpower opponents at the basket regularly.

1996 draft was insane. 4 top-75 players of all time, 10 All Stars and a DPOY.

2003 technically had a lot of All Stars (9), but a lot of fluke selections in there - Josh Howard, Korver, Mo Williams, Kaman(!)
