Very good ones do.

Sure. But when those games happen enough to where it results in 39% over the course of the season...

The point is that having a 10-15 game here and there doesn't count for much when there are more 3-15 games than 10-15 games. "Elite" or "good" shooter isn't defined by capability, i.e. a player CAN do it once; it's defined by "does it most of the time."

Yeah and I think the hope is he’ll continue to improve and become a good player. He’s good for his age

Give the Mavs D credit; they've made it hard for our guards to get anything in the paint. Everything is contested. Cade hasn't had very many good looks tonight, everything is contested.

Not bad. Not like Cade outdueled Doncic head up but played him pretty damn close. I'll take it. Great tank loss.

I feel like it's kinda silly to dislike Brunson just based on his size. He's a good player.

Not only that but this is yet ANOTHER horrible (not just bad but horrible) game by him since Grant has been shut down when apparently he plays so much better without Grant.

There's people penciling him in for $25 million/year after his rookie deal is up but FFS, how? I like Bey but right now he's just a streaky scorer/shooter who is like some type hospital employee, 3 days on 3 days off. This is going to sound like a knock because people don't like him or what he brings, but I see Bey as basically Harrison Barnes type of impact.

I'm not the biggest proponent for paying him $20 million but I actually agree with this. 6'1 is not and never has been undersized for a PG. If your defensive scheme REQUIRES the PG be at least 6'4, you need to change your scheme. Same logic that had the Lions draft that bum ass LB Tavai a few years ago.

As much as I rag on Bey about his defense--which does SUCK--I do like him as a player; I seriously do, believe it or not. I want all the Pistons players to do well but of course I'll have favorites given what I like to see. For example, Rodman and Salley were probably my two favorite players of the Bad Boys teams just because they were underdogs/bench/underappreciated/low expectations players who became clearly valuable pieces on a championship team. I don't get as much of a rise out of expected stars becoming stars (Caveat: Cade; Isiah was drafted while I was a child) so I'm really struggling with not only projecting Bey as a star, but getting excited about him as a core piece.

He's a good rebounder for 6'1" as well and he's just a solid all around scorer than you can get away with being shorter because you have taller PGs in Cade and Hayes handling the ball. I do think if we get Brunson is almost certainly puts Hayes into a 13-15 MPG backup for Cade which is probably fine. Diallo then backs up Brunson and perhaps some backup SF minutes as well for Bey unless Livers plays the 3 and Bagley the 4 off the bench.

Brunson’s a good player. I already knew that. But is he the right use of 20 mil at this time? I don’t think so, but it wouldn’t be a disaster or anything.

If we end up drafting a 2 or even a 2/3, tho, it gets stickier. Lotto rook needs to play, Killian needs to play. Livers should get minutes. Bey is likely still a starter.

Will be much easier with lotto luck drafting a 4. Cross your fingers. Then Brunson is def a solid choice.

Wish I could've caught this contest.
Breathing more easy about securing that 3rd worst record.

Eta: Key is intriguing
