G-Money!
What I find interesting is that Rice was traded for Zo who went on to be a hall of famer and certainy was more decorated as a Heat player, but in today's world, Riley might shy away from doing that deal.
Perhaps Zo's game could of adapted to the new rules; he certainly was talented enough for that idea to be entertained, but Rice would have been a killer in this era.
Heck, had he not have been traded and if Mia still went on to acquire Hardaway, that duo would have been box office to watch.
That's an interesting proposal. Today, Rice would be seen as a Lillard type, maybe. Volume shooter for sure. Would Zo still be seen as valuable?
Good question. Someone like Zo I think would probably still be a starter, but his outside the paint skills were so limited that he would not be on a winning team. Could he adapt his game? Perhaps. But if he brought the skills he had to the game today, it would be a rough go of things.
On the flip side, a guy like Yurt would probably be viewed as more necessary to a team than someone like Herro in the 90’s. The game has changed.
