depends on what you consider "consideration".

the three real candidates are jokic, embiid, giannis.

if you want to talk about that next tier of tatum and ja, booker is in there and imo should be at the top of it. but there's separation between that group and the top 3, their production is just too much.

Yes- the leader of the best team in league gets mvp
Consideration.

Unfortunately at least guys are having better years and Jokic is having one of the best years ever.

Well for reference, when Nash won twice there were guys with better production leading their teams to top seeds as well

Nash was #1 in plus-minus for the 2004-2005 Suns. He was the biggest part of their success.

Plus he has "an average person's body", so he has that going for him. :-D

Yeah but the narrative wasn't that the best player on the team was someone else.

CP3 just gets a ton of credit for what the Suns do. If Paul was out for half the season the the Suns have the same record I think Booker has a serious chance at MVP with the same stats.... but many look at Paul as the best player on the Suns.

No.

The Suns are a well oiled machine. I'm not sure Booker is even their own MVP. Even with their success without CP3, I'd say he's still their best and most valuable player.

In terms of impact stats this season, I think Bridges actually grades out the highest on their team.

So what is his argument?

He should but everyone overrates cp3 and don’t give the rest of the suns enough credit.
Booker is their best player.

Steve Nash's impact was right up there with any player with more impressive numbers. He WAS the Suns. The gameplan was give the ball to Steve Nash and let him make magic happen.

Booker's impact is not remotely comparable to the guys who have a legitimate shot at winning the award this season. Nobody in their right mind would actually take him over Giannis, Jokic, or Embiid. And among the next guys in line, not over Luka or Tatum. Heck Steph is having a really mediocre year by his standards and his on/off impact stats are still tremendous.

Booker is a perennial all star and one of the best guards in the league, and there's nothing wrong with that.

MVP is about performance over this season, whether or not people would take luka or tatum moving forward is irrelevant. he absolutely has an MVP case over those two. i think his case over tatum is actually very clear, i really disagree with people placing him over book in their votes.

Give me a clear and universally accepted definition of what is MVP supposed to be and I'll answer.

There's no such definition, as you can see from the public discussions between those people who actually have MVP votes.
Everyone makes his own, and what you get in the end is a soup.
