Our paths to the 8 seed:

https://www.si.com/nba/hornets/news/examining-all-play-in-matchup-scenarios-for-the-eastern-conference

Scenario 7: Pacers beat Nets, Bucks beat Cavaliers, Rockets beat Hawks, Hornets beat Wizards (we'd play @BRK)
Scenario 8: Pacers beat Nets, Cavaliers beat Bucks, Hawks beat Rockets, Hornets beat Wizards (we'd play @CLE)
Scenario 10: Pacers beat Nets, Cavaliers beat Bucks, Rockets beat Hawks, Hornets beat Wizards (we'd play @CLE)
Scenario 12: Nets beat Pacers, Bucks beat Cavaliers, Rockets beat Hawks, Hornets beat Wizards (we'd play @BRK)
Scenario 15: Pacers beat Nets, Bucks beat Cavaliers, Hawks beat Rockets, Hornets beat Wizards (we'd play @BRK)

I don't believe for a second that Indy would beat Brooklyn. Assuming Brooklyn wins, only scenario 12 holds up, Milwaukee would have to beat CLE (very possible though I hesitate to say likely since the Bucks could rest), and we'd need Houston to beat the Hawks.. Houston's lost a bunch of close games recently against ok teams so I wouldn't rule them out entirely. So all these cases sound like miracles. Also all four of these games are being played at the exact same time. 3:30 EST

We should operate under the assumption that we're going to need to beat two of these teams to make the playoffs. I just hope neither game is against BRK.

I don't like our chances to win this game, let alone move up to 8.

With Beal, Porzingis, KCP, and Kuzma out, they are missing their top 4 players. This isn't like last year where we couldn't stop Westbrook at the end of the game. But I wouldn't put anything past this team.

Giannis, Middleton are both doubtful tomorrow. Really our best shot is if the Pacers can upset the Nets. I feel pretty good about beating an Allen and Mobley-less Cavs, but I feel we get obliterated in a playoff game in Atlanta. If we are in the 9/10 game, I'd put our odds of making the playoffs at 15%.

I know we have no shot at contending but getting into the playoffs and playing a 7 game series is absolutely crucial for our guys development. We need that experience.

It's so dumb that we might miss the playoffs becuase of that freaking Olynyk buzzer beater

Hayward now ruled out indefinitely due to foot soreness. Getting rather impossible for even an avid Hayward supporters like myself to continue to defend him.

I think he's played his last game as a Hornet. It's going be an interesting offseason.

The last couple months without him we were 2 or 3 games above .500 without him so its not like we completely fell apart like we previously had so I tend to agree with you.

Bucks are resting everyone so they can get the 3 seed and play Chicago, lol

Our only hope is the Pacers and/or Rockets

There should be a rule saying you can't rest players on the final week of the season, it spoils what could have been an interesting night now it just seems all the play in teams will win. If the Bucks are resting players just so they play Chicago then I hope Chicago beats them in the 1st round

Dragic and Seth Curry are out. Maybe Haliburton has a big game and clamps Kyrie

Good grief what a horrific sequence by Plumlee.

Cavs up 10-0 in the blink of an eye. Such an atrocity how the NBA allows teams to constantly rest players.

Is the game on a different channel? Bally Sports South is showing the ATL game instead

Our game for me

Cleveland up 31-13 in the first quarter. Wild
Atlanta also up 25-15

Charlotte lazing around not taking the Wiz seriously, what a surprise
