I'm torn with this rule changing, because this is going to largely benefit top 6 teams only. Other teams don't have good depth hence why they are mid to lower table sides. Now imagine City losing 1-0 to Brighton and now can sub on 5 players that can easily start for Brighton, meanwhile Brighton only having fringe players to sub on that would barely make the bench for other prem teams.
Let's be realistic City will destroy Brighton like they scored 7 against Watford with 3 subs or 5 subs. The rich are already too powerful.

I think 5 subs is good if it gives more playing time, rest for all players in the 20 teams. It might protect players in Cups, extra time games, protect tired players, against injury risk.

Bending over backwards to help the big 6 . It's another nail in the coffin of real football. It makes me wish the superleague had got off the ground so that those who want elitist football can have it and the rest of us can watch real football.
Yeah rules change to help big 6 sucks,in less corrupt federations there would be rule changes to help out the other 14 teams too. I'm more worried about teams like Leicester, their season being ruined by injuries, too many games in few days because they don't have big sqauds.

I'm interested in helping smaller teams but I can't trust the motivation behind this rule...

Correct me if I am wrong, but weren’t Liverpool up 1-0 prior to the penalty? And Watford never scored in the game.

Additionally, if the club is as you say, then this story is wrong:

Think Leicester would have smashed United here if they were full strength. Very sloppy performance by United, gave the ball away in key areas repeatedly.

Big 6 bias. Easy red for Mctominay not given by VAR then rules out the winning goal.

VAR has become a tool to help the big 6.

Great performance today by Spurs. 1-0 down only to win 5-1, I think the quick response after Lloris' mistake was integral as it prevented Newcastle from regrouping and structuring their defensive shape. Five different goal scorers was great too, you love to see that.

Sitting in fourth temporarily. I think Arsenal's advantage might be a bit too much to overcome at this point in the season, but I'm glad we're making a good go of it.

Palace are excellent. Glad we don't have to go there in the run-in.

They worked Arsenal! Credit to Patrick Vieira he has this Palace team playing well.

I wish Villa weren't so inconsistent, we could've beat Arsenal as well if we had some bite we probably would've got a result against Arsenal, Wolves, Newcastle and Watford. We need to turnover the spine of our team to become better, that'll probably happen in the summer.

They do, it’s hard to dispute otherwise. They have pissed money up the wall on some bang average players. Iwobi, Gomes, Tosun, Moise Kean, Michael Keane and Walcott.

That’s bad business, I’m always for teams that build slowly to try and get into the top 6. Like West Ham and Leicester.

And Erik ten Hag wants to manage that club?

Unless the board gives him a mass cleanout, he'll be in the same shape as the previous ones...

Well our game against Tottenham felt like a Fifa game, conceded soft goals then go on to attack without scoring and concede soft goal after soft goal.

Villa need a whole new spine of a team and I’m going to say possibly a clean slate without Gerrard there…

@HIF Leicester have 3 points waiting for you when we play you guys next

It was a very difficult first half for Spurs. With some quality up front the game could have been won for Villa in the first half. You can see what the game plan was: Nobble the Spurs players early, play physically and aggressively and make them think twice about coming out. Didn't work out because nobody could put it in the net, and Lloris had a good performance, but it felt like a good strategy and we had nothing going on in midfield.

Second half we were phenomenal. Kane, Kulu and Sonny lethal. Feeling very optimistic about this team going forward under Conte, the first feeling of genuine excitement since Pochettino's Spurs teams.

Exactly. If you look at things Olé was doing a much better job than Rangnick. It's all going downhill for the once great reds.

Spurs must be laughing their hides off this weekend.

Of course the positive is that if spurs make the CL Kane probably stays and finishes his career never having won a trophy (sorry baph ;-))
