I wish we would have gotten to see a bit more it sucks he was injured as much as he was. But we did see enough to know he has a really nice offensive skillset. He still needs a lot of work on his perimeter shooting I was hoping he was a bit better in that area to better fit next to Stewart.

My ideal contract would be 3 years $27 million which I think is fair for a solid up and coming backup big. If he thinks himself a starter we might have a bit of a stand off. I'm not sure if any teams would throw the full MLE on him banking on his untapped potential or not.

If anything team came out and offered around 4 years $45 million I'd likely rather pursue Robinson and or other bigs while we have time to decide whether or not to match his offer sheet.

Need to wait on draft and decide on Grants future 1st. The logjam up front is a potential problem.

I'd be happy with 3/27m but I wouldn't be shocked if he got Kelly Olynyk money from somebody. I wouldn't want that to be us though. I'd probably go to 3/32m or something.

We're probably giving him KO money. Lottery will decide Grant's future not Bagley, he will be back 100% for sure.

Do y'all think he's going to be in demand or something? It'd seem silly to do more than the 7.2 mill/year qualifying offer to turn him into a RFA, at which point if no one beats us, why would we beat ourselves?

I'm stuck on three years, $24 million with the third year a team option. Bagley has looked good and could earn more if he can up his defensive game and three point shooting, but that payday isn't this year. He has a bit of a durability issue too, which may affect offers. Anything over $30 million and I'd pass.

If he believes in himself, he takes the 1 year QO for $7.38 million. I think if Weaver believes he's going to be decent, there is some incentive to offer a bit more than that per year to try to get a few years at a reasonable price.

Zero chance he takes something like 3 years $21 million IMO because he's rather just take the 1 year qualifying offer and bet on himself getting a bigger deal as an unrestricted FA. If Weaver hasn't seen enough to be sold on a multi year deal he likely just puts the qualifying offer out there.

Do I think he'll be in demand? It's unlikely, but its possible he could get a MLE type offer from another team. I doubt it though based on what we've seen there are still quite a few question marks with his game.

Depending on what we do in the draft and trades.... Somewhere around the MLE. I might offer more on a declining deal to make it less over time.

Still rather spend like money on Jalen Smith.

If he wants some short term security, 2 years for $22m

That sounds a fair compromise

As stated, tough to decide before May 17th, but in a vacuum, away from the ping-pong balls, and based on Cades play with him on the floor, the maximum I would go, is a 4/48.

I would prefer a 3/30. Making sure you have the Bagley type is priority #1, and if the lottery isn't kind, you have to keep him. It also depends on if Cade likes him or not as well. Its only his first year, but at his talent level, you gotta make sure you put pieces that work with him in place first, and foremost.

I’d do that in a heartbeat. He clearly has some chemistry with Cade and it doesn’t lock the Pistons up if they want to make a big move after next year.

Yeah we have some very interesting moves to make this offseason. If we resign Bagley that mean we trade Olynyk right?

I'd rather have Bagley based on upside obviously.
Is he going to be content possibly coming off the bench?

Bagley is coming off the bench regardless of if KO is here or not.

Stewart looks locked in at C unless we acquire Robinson or a different FA

Grant looks locked in at the 4 unless we trade him, which likely means we drafted a 4 who will start

I'm not smart enough to say what his (Bagley) proper pay should be, but I hope he's signed because he efficiently gets buckets, something this team struggles at far too often.

Ugh pass on Robinson. He's getting better but needs to be spoon fed buckets if he isn't getting tip ins.
