A 40 million backup doesn’t make sense, so im assuming Lakers will arrange a buyout and Hornets will sign for vet min ?

What is with all time greats having interest in terrible talent? Both Jordan and LeBron are atrocious at putting together teams, that’s the one area where I can’t decide who is worse.

Its not the worst idea in the world in theory, Rozier and Hayward are good prime support players that LeBron needs to win now, and it opens the cap for us to add that 3rd piece to LaMelo and Bridges that fit their timeline better. But idk who that guy is and they better have an idea and be pretty confident they can get him

In a perfect world we would get draft capital on top of it and tell Westbrook to stay home for the year like Wall but we're a poor cheap franchise that would rather sell jerseys and market a garbage rehab project like WB at the expense of youth development, and Kupchack would probably give them a sweetheart deal and not understand how actually desperately they need a bailout

Haven't you heard the Blazers are going to send Lillard for Westbrook, It seems like some portion of Lakers fans actually think this.

Leave it to another all-time great player who's been terrible as a GM to trade for Westbrook.

This is a legacy move and a personality one. MJ likes Westbrook and has gone on record to say he's the closest in attitude to him in the current NBA. If he gets more out of Westbrook in Charlotte than Los Angeles did, than what does it say of his future HOF teammates?

If there’s one person who’s more out of touch with current players talents than lebron it’s Jordan. They both think it’s still 2014.

Everyone knows MJ is a comically bad talent evaluator. It's also not the first time he's had interest in Westbrook.

You can't be atrocious and a champion several times over at a thing.

Only if WB is willing to accept a vet min deal and come off the bench to play no more than 20min

MJ heard Lebron was in the running for GOAT bad GM, and he wont be outdone. Hayward/Rozier/1st rounder incoming for Westbrook

ofc you can. Wade/Lebron was far from an ideal fit and Bosh wasnt necessary. They wouldve been better off using his money for an actual supporting cast. That they won just means the crazy amount of talent the 3 of them had was just overwhelming. You dont have to be a great GM to say "2 of the top 5 players+another top 15 players will win titles".

True , good post. I would def not be opposed to adding the 27th to this with like top 10 Protection on it. Hayward scares me a bit but beggers cant be choosers. If the Indiana deal has any legs than this is the best backup i can think of . Snyder ...this deal...healthy AD and we are kinda a threat again in the west if it all breaks our way .

If they don't send something they shouldn't like the Kings did for Sabonis then it could sell tickets. The biggest Hornets salary is Hayward so he makes the most sense as a trade piece though I think the Hornets will need to add even more salary for that trade to work

I could see MJ being the only man who could knock some sense into Westbrook.
