Really hope it’s not the Nets but I feel pretty good about them taking out the Cavs. Any other team the series goes 5 max.

if we can’t beat nets without Simmons then we don’t deserve the title.. Hawks won’t be easy

Gabe brings great defense, good shooting and ballhandling.

Dipo should get Duncan's minutes.

Agreed. Dipo should eat into Duncan's minutes.
However what is factual is not necessarily doable.

Miami is presented with a big challenge, Gabe works with the starters/bench unit, because he defers, knows the rotations, and is comfortable as a stand still outlet shooter.

Duncan has been absolute trash, and if he is cold from the 3pt then he magnifies his deficiencies even more because he is our worst defender. Miami has removed him as a starter because of this and moved him to the bench where he sees less defensive pressure and should have an easier time getting rhythm shooting back. This hasn't happened, and now were at a dilema, we either try and force him minutes hoping he is somewhat serviceable to the point we could trade him next year for some worth or completely shut him out and replace him with Dipo.

With Dipo we also have a dilemma, he hasn't looked good at all playing with the regular 9 man rotation. He needs the ball in his hands and for everyone else to defer to him. Something that won't happen next to Jimmy, Bam, Lowry, or even Herro during bench minutes.
I think the off ball Dipo is just not there at least not now. Dipo struggles to be at the correct spots playing off ball and makes silly passes resulting in turn overs. Also struggles to be at the right place during our heavy switching rotations Miami employs. These 2 games of his where he looked great were outliers not necessarily something we could replicate currently.

I think knowing our coaching staff if were winning, he will be buried in the bench even if the games are close and Duncan is clanking bricks and a stand still cone of a defender. Just trying to get Duncan to fetch something in the trade deadline, Miami is salivating being able to unload him next offseason for a 3&D PF to replace PJ as a starter.

One thing I think we can all agree on…..if there’s a time to work in Dipo and a round to test it out in actual game time, it’s this week off we have and then I’m the first round.

its a 75% chance we play the hawks. Would actually make for a fun series tbh they play us hard and annoying. Could see us winning in 5 imo.

We're not sweeping anyone, Bet on that. we're not that type of team.

I expect every match up to be a long grind of 5-7 games. We're very up and down especially on offense.

I absolutely agree our closing efficiency has been an issue all year long, The lineup changes haven't fixed that problem. I can see us drop 1 or 2 stupid games in series to worse team because the score is close going into the last 2-4 minutes at the end of the 4th quarter and we can't seem to find the basket for a couple possessions in a row.

I was initially set on the Hawks being our opponent, but the Cavs played good enough against BKN that now I'm not sure who it'll be.

Dipo coming off a 40pt, 10 reb, 7 assist game on 60%fg. Spo has some major decisions to make. That kind of firepower just rotting on the bench....idk.

It was satisfying seeing that sort of output from Dipo. He looked more confident w/ his body as the gm went on. I'm very happy for him but it was against the Magic who are last in the East & won just 22 gm's. Let's see something close to that production when it counts vs worthy opponents in a playoff environment. IF we see that then Spo has decisions to make. Either way it's a great problem to have.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Cleveland - has the 5th rated defensive rating, with a 20th rated offensive rating.
Altlanta - has the 26th rated defensive rating, with a 2nd rated offensive rating.
Charlotte - has the 22nd rated defensive rating, with a 8th rated offensive rating.

Miami - has the 4th rated defensive rating, with a 12th offensive rating.

We would not have any problems scoring on either Atlanta or Charlotte, and we also have the defense to slow them down although they will make us work for our stops.
Cleveland on the other hand will make scoring difficult as long as Allen is back, but without him its probable the team is not 5th rated defense more like middle of the pack (what we saw yesterday how it wasn't to hard for Brooklyn to score on them). They struggle to score because they are a grind it out team, which shows. They gave us trouble this year when we played them on occasion.

I would say, if Allen is still not playing:
Cleveland ranks best team to face.
Charlotte the second best team to face.
Atlanta the worst team to face.

If Allen is playing healthy for Cleveland:
Charlotte the best team to face.
Atlanta the second best team to face.
Cleveland the worst team to face.

Following that series we face either Philly or Toronto.
Philladelphia - has the 12th rated defensive rating, with a 11th offensive rating.
Toronto - has the 9th rated defensive rating, with a 15th offensive rating.

We have two teams that are both comparable to Miami in offense production but worse defensively.
You decide here if you would like, an easier time defending against Toronto.
Or an easier time scoring against Philly.
They are both very similar in production, I would favor playing Toronto because because the star factor of Embid/Harden could
become problematic if they either turn it on and find their groove not to mention the calls going their way.

Let's face it we are not going deep into the playoffs if Duncan isn't playing great, his offensive output is a must for the Heat...dipo could replace it possibly, but only next season

... or guard and s. forward rotation should be made of up of jb, lowry, herro, duncan, dipo, stuss, Martin, gabe ( in that order)

.. Center and pf (bam, pj, jb, Morris, yurt, ud)... I think we all would change big guy rotation, but spo fancies himself to be a revolutionary coach... let's leave him to his antics

spo has earned them....but only for one season!
