Does Austin Reaves not even get a finna thread for his 30 point triple double?

I mean come on. He deserves a finna thread. (Immanuel Quickley actually had a 30 point triple double too so maybe this thread can do double duty)

He also did it in a meaningless game against a Gleague lineup. Lots of scrubs went off yesterday but we’re not making threads for every single one of them

It is now the postseason. The Lakers did not earn the right to be talked about at this point.

With that being said, Reaves is a player.

I feel like regardless of the circumstances, last night gave us a preview of whose up and coming. I got to see Luka Garza drop a 20 and 10 last night, and that was awesome.

But what Austin did was great. It was like looking at a kid whose had almost a year of being around 5 hall of famers, soaking in the knowledge and gaining experience in that locker room and in his time as a role player off the bench.

And then, given the right opportunity (garbage time) he can showcase his full array of work. Sure, the statline doesn't look as good if that same roster played against the Nuggets starters, but I think we should still appreciate how far he's come.

Only one of four rookies to record a 30 point triple double. Don’t care if was an exhibition game with zero implications, still joining some prestigious company. He and Monk have been the only bright spots for this team.

Who cares'? He's scrub who played against a team who rested their starters and is also on a team that didn't even make the play in tournament despite of having high expectatations. Not really worth talking about.

And I loved how into Dwight Howard was. 10 years ago he would have been a surly man on the bench waiting to go home. Now he was taking genuine joy his teammates accomplishments.

I call this the Elfrid Payton effect.

Where multiple times, Payton would average a triple double for the last 10-15 games a season...

People would be like 'watch out for him next season!'.....and.... nope.

Not saying Reaves doesn't have potential, I like him. But...

Them Arkansas boys were one of the few bright spots for the Lakers this season. Both Reaves and Monk had great games last night too.
