marks was saying he wouldn't trade harden up until the moment he did. has a GM ever said they were going to trade a player publicly?
If anything that means he’s gone
right the interview screamed to me "JULIUS IS NOT A HEADCASE AND HAS TALENT PLEASE TAKE HIM"

How can anyone still support Randle after this season? Dude is a ticking timebomb and it wouldn't surprise me if he takes a swing at a ref or teammate next season if he's still here. Randle is psycho.

i don't recall ever saying that about a press release but speaking on the situation now i think it's ridiculous to take leon's mild mannered interview as sign he's staying lol we all watched the same season and right now there's a fan favorite making the case that the guy the fans hate is expendable

Crazy how fast things change in life.
A month ago Obi was hurt and Cam had a few nice games. Cam then gets hurt, and Obi comes back only to barely play again. Looked like a meh end to Obi’s season, until he was finally unleashed. Imagine how good it must feel for him to enter the summer after not only getting some 20 point games, but ending with 30 and 40+ point games too. All the sudden the team has more cover and support to trade Julius too.
Same with IQ. Things were not lookin good for him this year, until the All Star Break. Now he’s showing maybe we dont need another PG. Who knows though, because we never tried starting him there for a long period of time since Burks needed development lol. Id much rather develop him at point than pay a few bags to Brunson tho.
RJ had a rough rookie year, then had a better soph year on a winning team, then started this season badly but took off after the New Year looking like a star, and then kinda fell into inefficiency again. Next year should tell us whether he can be a real star or just a solid starter.
Grimes rode the bench, then covid happened and he broke out, then he got hurt and ended with a whimper. Hopin for a nice comeback with him.
I dont need to mention Julius’s bumpy ride as a Knick. Point is a lot can change in a short time. Gotta stay patient and see where this goes.

He’s only been here for 3 years

And I don’t even think Leon Rose spoke for 2 years

what i know is that rose drafted obi when we needed a PG and was proud to have done so. i think the loyalty leans that way. never saw anything about rose being close with randle. i think the conventional wisdom in our FO last summer was that signing randle to the deal we did would be a good move no matter what because we could trade him when obi's time came. if he produced at the level he did this season but didn't get into a war with the fans, his value would be solid. i think it still is since many GMs feel a change of scenery makes a big difference for some players

i mean you also supported the knicks extending him for another 4 years. so now you gotta live with that.

before this summer results in warfare and looking back on peoples' takes, i'm gonna leave my summary re: randle here

1. hated his play in year 1. morris was better on the floor and as a teammate
2. was completely open to and supportive of his play in year 2. i want what's best for my basketball team! no grudges
3. offseason i wanted to either trade high or let year 3 play out as a tiebreaker season before renegotiating his contract. look it up

4. year 3 went off the rails pretty early and it was clear we needed to get this guy off the books asap to maximize the value/potential we still have on this roster. i'm still here

No need for tape. Reddish stood in the corner and didn’t get the ball.

I tried talking myself into Randle but that was a big mistake. If it was up to me I would have traded him for Batum and tanked last year so I don’t have to support anything

Overall though I don’t buy anything Rose was saying, He was better off not saying anything if he was just going to do a puff piece and not field questions
