As we go into the play-in game tonight, I think we should all acknowledge the importance of what our team have accomplished.
We have by far the longest active winning season streak in the NBA with 11 now, five more than the next longest, Jazz & Bucks at 6 a piece.
We are also tied for 10th best streak along with 1988-1998 Bulls and 2010-2020 Thunder. Now, we just need some play-off success.
All the teams below have been at least to one NBA finals during their streak, except for us and Bucks.
San Antonio Spurs......22 1998 2019
Utah Jazz...............19 1986 2004
Los Angeles Lakers.....16 1977 1992
Boston Celtics..........14 1980 1993
Portland Blazers.......14 1990 2003
Boston Celtics..........14 1956 1969
Dallas Mavericks.......12 2001 2012
Philadelphia 76ers.....12 1976 1987
Milwaukee Bucks.......12 1980 1991
OKC Thunder...........11 2010 2020
Chicago Bulls...........11 1988 1998

San Antonio Spurs - 5 NBA Titles
Utah Jazz - Multiple NBA Finals Appearances
Los Angeles Lakers - 5 NBA Titles
Boston Celtics - 3 NBA Titles
Portland Blazers - Multiple NBA Finals Appearances
Boston Celtics - 11 NBA Titles
Dallas Mavericks - NBA Title, Multiple Appearances
Philadelphia 76ers - NBA Title, Multiple Appearances
Milwaukee Bucks - Multiple Conference Final Appearances
OKC Thunder - 1 NBA Finals Appearance, multiple Conference Finals Appearances
Chicago Bulls - 6 NBA Titles
Los Angeles Clippers - 1 Conference Finals Appearance
Easily the least successful of the group and the only one in the group other than Milwaukee not to make an NBA Finals.
During that same time Miami and GS both went to 4 straight Finals and each won 2 (neither are on the list above) and the Memphis Grizzlies made a Conference Finals. Just highlights the disappointment of the prior squads during this current streak. Hopefully, this squad will change all of it.
You can't ever expect to win an NBA Title if you aren't playing to win your conference. The failure to get to that point until last year is the most frustrating part of being in that group.

While the Bucks failed to win a title in their winning seasons streak, they still have one thing the rest of this list has the Clippers don't: a Finals appearance, making it in 1971 behind Lew Alcindor A.K.A. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to net them their first title. They also all made the conference finals without any Herculean conditions. Clippers have no Finals berth, and they needed to come back from down 2-0 twice just to reach the conference finals after having had two 3-1 collapses within a five-year span. The Clippers, essentially, are the black sheep of this list.
Now, I'm not saying this to dismiss the Clipper's accomplishments, quite the contrary as a matter of fact. They fought through thick and thin, on the hairs of their chinny-chin-chin, just to get to where they are now. A lot of mistakes and missteps were made en route, sure, but they have done their best to learn from them by hiring the right people with the proper wisdom, bringing in players who have great character before talent, and bringing in a coach who can push the right buttons without being influenced or distracted by hidden agendas. For the Clippers, it's more about repairing the reputation of their franchise over chasing a title just to belong in the league. Good things beget good karma, and the Clippers are starting to believe in that, if not embrace it.

Consistency is important. Building a winning tradition after 40 years of loser mentality takes time, and I'm happy to see the progress.
I'm not the one for "tank and rebuild" strategy. Big clubs don't tank. It is a lot more likely that Wolves will be a lottery team again in 2 seasons than us. .

I'm not as harsh about tanking. Everybody has to do it sometimes, even the most well-run organizations like the Spurs and the Heat. In contrast, the Kings and Knicks are what it looks like when a franchise consistently refuses to swallow their pride and go through a rebuild when they need to.

Re: 11th Straight Winning Season - Best Active Streak
Our current full roster is a legitimate title contender but not a title favorite, not even a Western Conference favorite if GSW and DEN are at full strength too. I don't think that fact reflects negatively on us, no matter how many good or bad stats or streaks from our past.
Our front office just has to keep looking for further avenues for improvement in the offseason. We are deep enough that if we can just consolidate a couple of pieces and get reasonable value in return, we can maybe vault into the West favorite.
