The coaching is a handicap, so it will come down to the players executing offensively:

-Patty, Seth and Kessler have to make their open looks

-The team must take care of the ball. KD and Kyrie cannot commit dumb turnovers.

-KD has to be prepared for the hard double teams

-We must push the pace. Brown, Irving and Durant need to get us up the floor quickly.

I give up on defense. Nash and this coaching staff is so bad it is a forgone conclusion that Darius Garland is going to get a ton of open shots.

Sean Marks should be fired. The 2nd highest payroll in the sport and we're in the play in tournament. KD has been run into the ground and the risk of injury has risen due to fatigue. All of this is on him.

Look at what Ty Lue has done with the Clippers? 90% of their salary cap was out this year and those guys balled hard on both ends to make the qualifier. The Nets look completely unprepared for playoff basketball. I am not going to sit here and sugarcoat anything.
catastrophe.

Eye test don't back that up because of our philosophy on D, specifically switching that leads to chaos. I just hope we can be OK in that department, even if we 15ish type team on that end, I think we legit chip contender.

My main concern is determination of this team, and by saying determination I mean entire 48 min. I mean this team loves to half ass games no matter who we play. They so cocky and feeling entitled it's maddening and mind blowing.

Just give me 48 minutes of hard fought game. I'll live with the result.

fun stat. but also last 10 games we have given up 120+ 7 times (well 6 + one game at 119)

i dont buy that we have been playing well defensively.

Absolutely, but let's dissect why. They literally stop playing with effort period as I said. If we playing our 100... I don't see no team out there beating us. Not with Brown shooting nearly 50% from 3 since trade.

I swear this must be most pessimistic board in whole realGM , we got this easy , we got our issues no question about but loosing at home to Froless Cavs is simply not an option ( unless we want 8th and heat-raptors path to the ECF) go Nets !!!

Either way, I’m not that concerned. We don’t deserve the 7th seed if we don’t win this game or see better coaching.

That defensive possession was already discouraging. Ky ending up inside on Mobley and Garland wide open in the corner. Luckily Mobely travelled.

This needs to be the game where an identity is found. This why you play the games- to get into the playoffs. Handle business. Period.

I think Stan doesn't realize that KD stands in a corner for stretches of the game because its the only way he can stay rested enough to play 40+ minutes consistently.

I don’t think Nets win tonight. My personal view is they saw how Bucks/Sixers were positioning themselves to avoid Nets and I think Nets want the 8 seed. I think if they lose tonight, which I predict WILL happen, they end up beating Charlotte/Atlanta and take eighth. I think the Miami/Philly route is the more favorable route. Let’s face it, do we really want to face Boston and then Milwaukee or do we want to face one of them. I say the 8th seed is the best position for us to make a real run at a title.

It’s more favorable route no question about it , but man is scary road , one game against Atl or Charlotte could go either way

Yeah, I don't think we really have the luxury of picking and choosing what road we went to take. Too many weaknesses to act like we could do that.

That's what we've got to do off of a rebound, push the pace don't allow them to get set

I don't think KD and Kyrie want to duck anyone.

Plus beating Saltics feels much better than beating Heat
