Harden: “I have nothing to prove in Philly. I don’t feel any pressure.”

Lol The most unlikable star in Nets franchise history. It’s hard topping Deron Williams.

Let’s talk Brooklyn for a second, how would you sum up your short stint in Brooklyn?

“Uh, it was a lot of ups and downs. I appreciate the Nets and the city for what they’ve done for me in that year and a half. This is a business and for me, I think my happiness is the most important thing so I had to make the best decision for myself and for my family. But yea, I appreciated the time in Brooklyn.”

Yeah, the books closed on him as far as legacy as "the guy"
He can still prove he can be a winning second fiddle

This is just flat out denial, he thinks if he can speak it into existence he won't psych himself out as much as usual lol

He knows damn well he definitely does have something to prove & there will 1000% be a ton of pressure.

"It's about my happiness, so I want to go to Philly first and foremost." Sure thing.

There are not a lot of Harden fans left anywhere.

That’ll make his inevitable choke even more embarrassing, choking without any pressure.

Isn't Philly crowd known to be ruthless? Doesn't seem like a good match, if he thinks he has nothing to prove.

If you are expecting greatness you tell people your career has not gone the way you wanted to so far and that now is another opportunity to prove yourself. This is how you tackle the issue head on, rather than pretending it doesn’t exist.

The **** you don't dude, I'm going to be angry if Morey ruins the rest of Embiid's prime by giving Harden a massive contract he doesn't deserve.

These types of posts are so cringe.
No. We dont expect him to say that. But there are hundreds and thousands of different things he coulda said that could land in that middle ground of what he said and what you said.

Wish you could do a follow-up on that one. You are saying you had to make a decision? What decision was that? Did you ask for a trade with the Nets? Did you use back-channels?

Maybe it was just a bad use of the words, but kind of confirms what we all thought. He forced his way out of Brooklyn, versus it just being a trade by the Nets. He wasn't even asked how it went down, just seemed to slip out.

makes sense, you know he's got Daryl's assurance they will sign that extension and Philly will have a 36 year old Harden on the books for 60 million.

I'd feel no pressure either with a 60 million dollar payday like that on the horizon.
I'm giddy for months about a paltry $1,000 xmas bonus in my pay envelope.

I love watching him choke, but I will feel bad for Embiid.

Harden is 100% going to quit on Philly if they don't win a title this year.
