As someone who plans to starting taking my 5/6 year old daughter to Pistons games next year and sitting court side, that's certainly part of what irks me. First thought is how you'd feel if that was your daughter getting hit in the face with something an angry player throws... I'd be really upset to see it happen to my daughter.

Bridges did say that he is "ready for anything the NBA has for him" and pretty much that he deserves it and he also admitted he was aiming for the guy next to her trying to hit him.

This is a little different as it apparently was a minor, and his mouth gaurd contains his bodily fluids, and during the tail end of a pandemic.

This was so utterly stupid, I would not be surprised by a multiple game suspension.

The little baby had a temper tantrum, but at least he apologized I guess. He'll be paying some money to the NBA.

That's 100% correct. A fan tosses a plastic cup at Ron Artest they get a lifetime ban from the Arena. What does a player get for throwing something, similarly lightweight, at a fan that hits them in the face. Honestly think 1 game might be too light.

Ya'll might be forgetting but we already have precedence. Steph hit a fan with his mouthpiece in game 6 in 2016 and he threw his mouthpiece at a ref in 2017. He got a $50,000 fine for the latter but no suspension for either.

Curry threw his mouthguard out of frustration... he was in the middle of the court. He didn't mean to hit the fan. Bridges was right next to the fans and intentionally threw it at them. It's a very different situation. Curry was wreck-less but what Bridges did was 100 times worse he threw it with intent to hit a fan.

I would say it’s 100 million times worse than what Saint Curry did.

I hope the girls sues him for the assault and the people around her sue him for the trauma of this horrific event

This is definition of criminal battery.

Bridges/Charlotte better have apologized and sent her tickets/shoes/jerseys.

He obviously aimed at that douchbag fan and hit the girl instead. Regardless, this is an easy suspension from the league. Not throwing anything at any fan is a league minimum.

If a fan threw a mouthpiece at an NBA player and hit them in the eye with it, that fan would get a lifetime ban in all NBA arenas.

He gave a good apology, in fairness.

You absolutely can. Spitting is a crime also. If that young lady wanted to press charges, she could. Hopefully this all goes by the waist b/c he clearly didn't mean any harm

I would sue the absolute living **** out of Bridges. Not because I was hurt, but because if I threw a mouth piece or any object at him or any NBA player and hit him in the eye with it, I would get hit with criminal charges and would never be allowed to step foot in an NBA arena for the rest of my life.

He should make a public apology (beyond a tweet saying "that's unacceptable"). It's the way to try to bring honor back to the girl and her family, and to show that he can admit when he's wrong. I'm sure that will happen, and that should be the end of it.

Of course, people will remember this. So if he loses his cool again and lashes out, then it will give him a rep as a loose cannon. Until now, I haven't heard anything bad, so I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

Very fortunate he hit her shoulder first, instead of straight into the face.

If we're going old school the precedent for this would be Charles Barkley, who spit his chewing tobacco at a heckling fan and hit an 8 year old girl instead. He got a fine and a one game suspension.

He later apologized and provided the family tickets to the games and according to wikipedia even became friends with them. As long as Bridges is remorseful and does something to make it right one game and a fine sounds about right

Sucks it came into this, he/Hornets/League should reach out and compensate the girl, but I love his passion and his hate of losing, Hornets should wish they had more players with his passion.

Now there is only one way Miles must propose to her.

If he had better aim maybe his team would've won.

Any suspension money should be given to the girl, what a waste of a BLK man's salary for the NBA to absorb it into their institution.

I love Miles....I'm from Flint too and I don't know him personally because I moved out of state once his basketball career started to take off but I have a lot of friends that know him personally, he's a solid dude. BUT this is completely unacceptable, SHOULD absolutely be a multiple game suspension. Silver is soft so it won't be but that is a CHILD....that got hit by a disgusting mouthpiece because a grown man had a tantrum. League should come down hard. Even if the NBAPA fights it and get it reduced, league should send a message 3-5 games.

3 game suspension + 50k fine imo, and he should send her courtside tickets + jersey/shoes and hope she and her parents accept his apology. You can't be throwing your mouth piece into the crowd man.

Mouthguards are like petri dishes for bacteria with how athletes treat them, I'd legit consider legal action.
