Celts win Game 1 and this will be an interesting series.

If we lose game 1 it’s not over that’s crazy it would be a bummer but far from over. The team ain’t feelin that way shiieet.

If we get down 2-0 heading to Brooklyn then we can maybe start talking about being ****. Not after game 1 tho give our guys some credit.

Rob Williams not being able to play really changes everything.

The offense will be slightly different and the defense will certainly be not the same.

Even in lineups without Rob thr Celtics are statically better than any lineup the Nets rolled out all year. You are constantly overrating a mediocre Nets squad. Celtics in 5

Not having rob hurts us but losing game 1 even without rob doesn’t mean it’s over for the Celtics.

We can win a **** series without winning game 1.

I will concede tho that game 1 is decently crucial and I’d like very much to win it. I think it’ll give the team a nice boost of confidence.

What's your prediction?

Who wins series and how many games?

I like us in 6 I’d think 5 but I will give Kd the 1 game boost.

That's what the stats say.

This series will put that to the test.

Not necessarily the stats say out offensive rating is 112 without rob this season and 113.4 with him and half of that is with the lifeforce draining Dennis shroeder.

Defensive rating from 103 to 107 still a great net rating and both have been even better since his injury.

Each player is affected by the playoffs differently.

That's why it remains to be seen if some of the Celtic players will still play well in the playoffs.

Celts are not going to win this series if it's just Tatum and Brown.

Checked the numbers on Theis : in 700 possessions with him on the court; 14.6 net rating. 121 ortg/106.5 drtg

If you check our playoff rotation - rob: 1200 possessions. + 12 net rating; 123 ortg/ 111 drtg

Theis + grant or Horford works well defensively
Grant + Horford does not. Amazing offense with those guys tho.

Note these stats are from before the grizz game and filter out garbage time.

Nets players outside of cupcake and lil sage have to show up too. I have more faith in our guys then that group from the local church the nets got suiting up.

We'll know more in a few days.

IMO, Celts made a big mistake by not dodging the Nets.

Don't rush him back, we probably beat these guys regardless. Try to get him back for the 2nd round.
Good assessment:

I hope Tatum doesn't view this series as his chance to prove he's the best player in the world. Same with Brown. Guys like G. Williams, Horford, Pritchard and White will have plenty of open shots, and Tatum has to find the open man as soon as the double team comes.

I think JT has learned that to prove you're the best you need to be a good teammate and good passer in this league. That's why hes played so well since December.

Last year Durant nearly carried the Nets to victory over Bucks by himself - literally failed because of toe touching the line. I have legitimate fear of that dude.

However, he has been injured this year, is older, has been forced to log over 40 min. Despite a colossal collapse by Bulls the Nets still couldn’t catch them. They went 6-4 in last 10 games with Ky and KD playing playoff minutes and playing all out to win. The Celtics finished the year 26-6 with 2 losses due to resting >3 starters. The Nets third best scorer Curry is injured. Their third best player is a 6-4 big man drafted in second round. Ben Simmons is a big time talent and if he could play 35 mpg like he did in 2017 he could upset the dynamic in a big way. I like their chances to win it all with a healthy Ben Simmons …. next year.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I don't know where you found those stats but thank you, specifically for removing garbarge time.

Those are the exact stats I want to know.

I do feel like looking at the Nets stats is useless though because they've had nearly 0 real time with Irving and Durant and their current supporting cast. And we all know Durant ball is a lot different in the playoffs than the regular season when he is challenged. He takes over the game offensively and defensively.

But at least this makes me feel better about the Theis/Horford situation

Cleaning The Glass automatically filters out garbage time in all their stats. Their lineup filtering tools are really quite helpful. Not everything is accessible for free though but I'm a subscriber. Happy to look up anything people want to know. I probably already have but it's always cool if people think of stuff I haven't yet.
