Obi was just underrated here until he finally got minutes. He was killing it the first 2 months of the season, but his 3 didnt start falling until the last 2 months. Frank and Knox made fans doubt him, but he’s nothing like them outside of where they were picked.

When I look at guys like Miles Bridges, John Collins, Aaron Gordon, Kuzma and such there is absolutely no reason why Obi cant do what they do, or be better (which I think he will).

I know some posters think we’re crazy for not salivating at throwing the whole team away, including Obi, for that phat phuck Zion, but it’s a shame we dont have more info on Obi as a starter because he would easily be considered our best young player if he started from day 1 like RJ did.

Sure Zion has more upside if all goes right for him, but there are serious red flags with him that Obi has none of.

All signs point to Obi breaking out next season if he starts, like CJ McCollum did in his 3rd year. He scores so effortlessly and efficiently that 18-20+ ppg is not out of the question at all. I mean he averaged 19 ppg per 36 this season.

I think the whole play on Reddish was also a play to attract Zion. I think if NO wanted Obi in a trade for Zion id have to believe they’d pull the trigger. This is all speculation ofc but that’s what I think they are angling at, or at least were before Obi’s great play.

Why would Zion want to play with the 2 bums that couldn't hit water from a canoe at Duke? RJ and Cam were so bad at Duke and Zion was nuclear level awesome.

Give Zion average shooters at Duke and anyone who could throw a pass to a teammate and they would have won. Also funny RJ took more shots and more shots per game at Duke than Zion despite shooting terribly.

As mediocre as RJ was at Duke, Reddish was out right terrible, in college where he had a massive athletic advantage basically against everyone he shot 35.6%. Not from 3. He just shot 35.6% as a human being. Total scrub chucker.

RJ chucked up a bunch of shots in the last game they lost and then bricked a free throw ... then made the one he tried to miss. These dudes are 2 of the last mother **** I'd ever want on my team again.

You think Zion cares what happened during games in his college career? It’s very clear that him and RJ remain close and if RJ can take the next step in his development + the way Zion gushed about MSG/NY it wouldn’t be crazy if he came here not really concerned about wins or not.
