no they don't. if there was a single formula for determining MVP, you won't even need votes. just plug the numbers in.

It’s very agenda based and biased so yes there needs to be a reevaluation.

Why? Because the person you want to win won’t win? There’s no formula or revamping needed.

The problem was CP3. If there is no CP3 on that team, Booker wins the award by a huge margin.

Without CP3 they wouldn't be the best team in the first place. Can't have it both ways

Certain voters are trying to ensure Jokic doesn't win it

There's no integrity anymore.

Just be effing real...no way Jokic isn't top 3.

What's the criteria for any sport? "Go".

It's subjective, like any sport. But I'll never be too upset when the player who had the best season (as close to objectively as we can have) wins MVP.

That's a small minority and only makes it more likely they won't have a future ballot. Jokic won by a significant margin.

The Player's MVP

Read on Twitter

Durant, Halliburton, VanVleet, Shaq, lots of other players...

The real MVP...

What has happened with the media and the pro advanced stats narrative has gone overboard...

There’s no perfect science to this…like get over it. It’s subjective…players used to vote and they screwed over players, like Wilt for example, who deserved it. Players may have issues with other players and have biases just like anyone else.

Easy to say get over it, when Jokic is going to win his 2nd MVP, and Embiid won't even have his first, lol.

More. If players were voting, Luka could still be a 0 time All-Star. Jokic would have no MVP too, simply due to the fact that they are white European players. Dirk was like 30 by the time American players started to respect him.

It's not written in stone, but it's probably not a good year to bring it up, when we have a player who dominated the game by every and any available metric, in a way few did before him.

First it was ppg
Then it was Vegas
And team record
And over .500 or under .500
Now it's friends across the league lol

But none of that can beat the facts

Maybe the MVP voting should only go to prior NBA players. Jalen Rose has a vote. Greg Anthony has a vote. Let Magic Johnson, Dr. J and 96 other prior NBA players vote for MVP.

I actually think that would be great. The media has too many agendas.

Yeah I think that’s the best compromise we can come too. All these guys know the game. They should have less biases and its should be an honor for them to do it. Honor past nba players

I still cannot work out what the argument for Embiid's fans over Jokic is.

Like throw stats aside to simplify it, is it because the belief is his scoring is more valuable than Jokic's entire offensive skillset? Is it that Embiid can do what Jokic does but doesn't because of the systems/team they play in? Is it purely team record? Is it that Jokic's stats are empty?

What is it?

Sixers were without a player who provides them defense, scoring, and passing. But the biggest issue was they dealt with the Ben Simmons drama. With a player who was actively trying to sabotage the team, and refused to play. That is very different than 2 good players getting hurt, and being unable to play. It is very different, and in the face of massive adversity, Embiid improved on his previous season, and was a deadly player throughout the season and in the clutch.
