Not that he would ever be a 1st choice, but Pierce’s defense on Lebron still gets underrated to this day. Below are the series with Pierce as the primary defender on him or at least I assume.

2008 vs Celtics: 26.7 ppg 48 ts%, 7.6 apg/5.3 tov
2010 vs Celtics: 26.8 ppg 55.6 ts% 7.2 apg/4.5 tov
2011 vs Celtics: 28 ppg 55.3 ts% 3.6 apg/3.4 tov
2012 vs Celtics: 33.6 ppg 58.7 ts% 3.9 apg/3.4 tov

Aside from 2012 when Pierce was hobbled and 34 years old, you can’t really say Lebron ever destroyed him or the Celtics. Yes KG and them other guys were there behind him, but he seemed more than adequate in the one on one situations.

Interesting point is that Pierce also struggled against Lebron, probably more than Lebron. There's a huge difference Pierce against anyone and Pierce against Lebron in the playoffs.

That’s irrelevant given how the question is asked though. It said who would you pick to defend him. I’d rather have Bird than Artest on my team, but it doesn’t mean he’d defend Lebron better.

This is probably who I'm taking--as long as like then he doesn't have the enormous offensive responsibilities he came to have.

I have no idea about Rodman but Artest is too small and not quick enough imo. This is Lebron in his physical prime (25) and Artest at (30) so still close to his physical prime, and this is pre post game Lebron:

You think a clip of 3 possessions is supposed to prove something? Calling him too small to guard Lebron is really weird given the other guys on this list. He was listed around 6’7 260 with the Lakers, and probably more like 240-250 with the Pacers realistically. How is that smaller than Pippen, or Kawhi?

Its not just :30. LeBron destroyed Artest in the mid-2000s. Multiple teams brought him in to be a 'lebron stopper' and it made no difference at all.

This is Kawhi because he is the only player I have seen in 20 years to consistently stifle LeBron and hold him to some bad shooting games where you can see the defensive impact every time. Hes the only player I have seen who has the upper body strength and lateral quickness to not get knocked backwards when LeBron lowers his shoulder. Artest didnt have that same ability as Kawhi.

Pippen is the tallest of the options. Shooting over Pippen might not work.
