Notorious for being a bad shooter
Hasn't played competitive basketball in over a year
Has a bad back
And some of you expect him to be dropped into a Playoff game and be effective? Really?
Simmons playing shifts the odds in Bostons favor. Definitely.
I don’t know. A 6-10 ambidextrous dribbler who can outrun many guards and take a rebound coast to coast is a huge addition to any team. I am certain he could step on court after a year and 1/2 of playing and be a factor trying to do that and then dumping off to KD if he can’t get to rim. Even taking into account his 34% free throw rate, his inability to shoot and his probable lack of conditioning and all the limitations that come with a herniated disk - I think he would be the second best bench player on either roster. He might not be able to lock down Tatum but he could bother him and Brown a little more than many other defenders with his length and speed. I’m not sure that is enough to move the needle enough for Nets but I’d rather Celtics take care of business from the outset of series.
ya Simmons is a bigtime wildcard
his D and handle esp in transition will show up no matter how long it has been since he last played !
then imagine he knocks down a jumper or two in front of his new home crowd, gets a huge rush of confidence, drops a couple dimes, gets a couple stops on D ...nets could ride any such momentum to a W
I am very relieved he will not play before game 4 if at all ! don't want anything to do with simmons entering this series at all
with Rob I say bring on ALL COMERS bc we are the best team in the NBA, no rob and a guy like Simmons playing great during honeymoon w new team scares me
