Finalists. OK
I wonder when the Actual Winners will be announced.

Celtics should be well represented on this.

Pressure is on the Celtics offense. Nets are going to score regardless of defense some games because of Kyrie and KD. The really need to push the ball any chance they have and limit turnovers and they should be fine. If it comes to half court offense close games I don't like the odds.

Our half court offense has been better than theirs. They're deadliest in transition.

Evidently KD, these last two seasons has kept JT to 37% from the field and 26% from 3.

They may not need to double JT.

Numbers show KD can seriously impact Tatum. Everyone else is gonna have to really step up here.

I said Celtics in an easy 5, but I'm less optimistic about that now. Probably 6.

Can't afford to lose game 1. If we do, there's a strong chance we came back to Boston down 3-1. Need to step on their throats right away.

Ignore those stats, just like we should ignore that Tatum held KD to 30%/0% splits this year, and 40%/0% last year. It’s such small samples that it doesn’t matter lol. KD will defend Tatum at times, but they can’t afford to do it a lot.

These matchup stats are mostly pointless anyways, as you can just force switches.

That's irrelevant with a few minutes left..trae beat the Cavs by himself...that's what you worry about in a close game with stars who can get their own shots. You don't want to be in that situation.

I don’t really get the confidence around the Cs winning easily - especially if Timelord is out. Don’t want to overindex on one game and it’s clear that they can compete with us even when healthy and even when Tatum is playing his best with the game in Boston a couple months ago.

And while Tatum can’t be stopped, KD is a good defender on him for key possessions; Simmons may also be.

I basically see this series as a toss up - but I hope I’m wrong and being conservative.

Was brown healthy or playing through because of the game? I'm not sure he plays that game if it were a lesser team (well, not star studded). Maybe he would have, but you could see he wasn't as ready as he would have liked to have been IMO.

I think most of us thinks this series would be hard fought, even with Rob healthy. Both KD and Tatum are good one on one defenders, and they can get a shot off anytime. It will be hard guarding those two single coverage. The difference would be our team/help/switching defense are a lot better than theirs. Also JT is a lot different now, as he passes the ball now, as compared to dribbling the ball too long before taking the expected side step fade aways, that he does a lot last year. if we play the right way, i expect us to win this series, especially if we protect hc the 1st two games. 1st game would be crucial. If we lose the 1st game, then the pressure would rise significantly for the 2nd game. I don’t know how our team would react to that yet.

It’s the playoffs and Nets have KD so I will always worry.

Why the optimism? Our starting 5 with Theis has a net differential of 33. Our team without Rob has the same dominant #s without him they had with him. Sure, the eye test says it’s not the same but as long as Tatum, Brown and Smart are leading the charge this team is really playing great basketball.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."
