Maxi could have been the hero. Instead it was O'neale.

Brunson and Dinwiddie aren’t good enough to go against Gobert with a packed paint when Jazz are ignoring 2 players.
I don't even know how to answer your question properly. Obviously what you said is true but i wasn't talking about them since they are on another level of Bertans. Bob8 responded to my post with something he didn't even understand of what i said.
There's exactly where we have the problem. Bertans D was irrelevant in this game. On the other hand Brunson and Dinwiddie generating offense was a big problem. But somehow you, like many times before, see problem in Bertans.
Kidd used Bertans at center spot to give Maxi and Powell some breathing room, which is fine because he can stretch the floor nicely. But Jazz saw that and went after him. That was mostly 3rd Q. I never said he's unplayable i said they are cooking him on defense. If you're being tasked to do such a hard job to guard switches and the rim, you better have some backup plan. Bertans did best he could but Mitchell broke out in the 3rd Q and Jazz went on a run. Hence why even JVG started talking exactly about this.
And that was also the time when i wrote my post that Kidd has to find a way to help Bertans in these situations. And then you made up your own narrative that i hate Bertans and i supposedly said that he is unplayable and you even brought up +/-. You can't just make stuff up and then argue something that someone didn't even say.
Also regarding Brunson and Dinwdiddie. This was one of my earlier posts which you obviously missed.

Mitchell was destroying Mavs well before Bertans came in. Who was guarding him first 8 minutes in Q3? That was not the problem? Mitchell scoring 32 points with 29 shots is something you sign before the game anyway. Mavs are not winning a single game in this series with scoring only 93 points, no matter what they do in D. And Bertans won't win or lose this series for Mavs. It looks to me that this series was lost in game 82 of RS.
+/- might not be the best for evaluating single player, but it says that lineup works. And lineups with Bertans are mostly positive, which is kinda strange, if we believe narrative how bad is he in D. I'm not talking only about this game, but lineup with him was positive today too, so Kidd's idea worked.

That was such a "wtf" moment on that defensive play from him. I expected a bit more from him but at least we can say they tried. But if Maxi made that 3pt shot it would have been 94-92 for the Mavs and game could have ended differently

You have to give credit to the guys, every one of them looked focused and played hard.
The saddest thing is I don't see how we can get closer : the Jazz (especially Mitchell) shot poorly and I don't see them not shooting better next game (even if we continue playing great defense) whereas the Mavs don't look like they can play better on offense, it's not like they missed tons of makeable shots like the Jazz. And I also don't think we'll continue getting that many FTs.
Even if I really don't like Burke, maybe he could get a few minutes to bring a little playmaking and rest Brunson and Dwindiddie.

Defense was good if we ignore rebounding. Luka is a really good defensive rebounder, they miss him there.
Jazz shot kind of bad but it's also Mavs defense that plays a part.
Mavs shooting was tragic. You will not win many games shooting 38% and 28% from 3.

I don't think they can shoot much better. Their 3pt percentage is usually much higher thanks to the open shots Doncic creates.

I think they can and should shoot much better if they even want to compete in these games. There were wide wide open threes. Even if Luka plays, he will create those and they need to knock them down.

Well yes they had some wide open 3s but it was mostly Green and Kleber who combined for 2 from 9 and it's not like they can do much better than that. Our good shooters like DFS and Bullock didn't have the usual open 3s they get with Doncic (they still shot well but didn't have many opportunities).
I'm sorry but I don't see the Mavs shooting better than 33-35% from the 3 without Doncic.

Mavs lack of size is why i wanted Denver. They'll have to work extra hard for those rebounds moving forward.

I’m watching KAT right, I don’t want to hear a peep about Luka bitching about call, he looks like Zen master next to KAT.

Brunson isn’t worth the money. I would sign and trade him.
My hot take is that the Mavs would have won this game if THJ was healthy.

The Knicks like Brunson. They like Mitchell too, but Jazz aren't trading him. Also of note was that Julius Randle was sitting near courtside today.

...or drafting someone else than Josh. Just look how Bane and Maxey look in comparison to Green.

The Jazz looked so weak. They barely beat the Mavs with Luka injured. We probably would have taken them by 20 today with Luka on the court.

Mavs should have won this game. Horrible offense. Any NBA team can’t miss 8 free throws and shoot 9 out of 32 from three and expect to win. Those are just ghastly numbers. Then if you factor in the huge rebounding deferential, this was just a missed opportunity.

Isn't Randle from Dallas? There is a chance Knicks will try to overpay for Brunson. And i hope Mavs are not dumb enough to go after Randle.
