After he hit Birch, after he hit Scottie, after he injured Scottie.

Someone has to be physical with him next game.

I mentioned this in the post-game thread - this is where we could really use a bigger, more "traditional" centre on the roster. Not a star or anything, just someone half decent to come in for a few minutes and change up the game.

Yea I'd be surprised if he played in the series again.

We need Steven Adams. Whole league is afraid of that guy. Don’t think Embiid would be so reckless with him around.

That's a tough blow.

If it's an ankle sprain he won't play again this year but should be fine a couple weeks from now, close to the best case watching the injury happen.

Good luck laying out Embiid.

I hate how Embiid is constantly looking for safe ways to create contact and fall down to sell the call. You knew that **** was intentional because he didn't show a shred of concern when Barnes was writhing in pain on the floor.

I hope our guys come out with elbows literally swinging the rest of the series.

Embiid deserves all the bad karma he's gotten

Then you rely on "natural shooting motion". Where there is a will, there is a way.

Given his propensity to be off balance and act it up, I think you can catch him

Harden as well....he was swinging his arms all over the place trying to draw fouls cuz he can't do anything else....lucky that OG who's been made out of glass this season didn't get his face fractured

Sprains are funny things, especially at Scottie’s age. Could be nothing, could be 8 weeks.

I guess we need to see how he responds to rest and ice. Taping will help, but we can’t risk his future.

Read on Twitter

Look at the angle on that ankle. Massive stretch to the peroneus muscles there....even a Grade 1 sprain going that far is going to have him walking poorly for a few weeks, let alone playing. With it being his takeoff foot, even if he's 50-50 to go, it's safer for him to sit.

Feel so bad for the guy. Came in and looked like he belonged, and looked primed to discover who he can be on another level and so hyped. Feels bad, man.

I think it depends on which part of the foot you're stepping with. If you're stepping with your heel and don't have another foot heavy, then ya there's a lot if danger ... Otherwise, I don't think it's as dangerous.

I think the really dangerous thing about what Embiid did though was the hipcheck. It's really dangerous to throw your hip into someone while pinning their foot down, for obvious reasons.

Sent from my moto g(8) power lite using RealGM mobile app

I just rewatched and it broke my heart to hear Scottie screaming like that. But I don't think what you saw was Embiid throwing his hip, I think it's Embiid planting on Scottie's foot and then losing his balance.

Hm I saw the hip make contact. Who knows though. In any case I don't think there was anything malicious.

Yup, within 2-3 years I had a full dislocation and I 'rolled' my ankle.

After the dislocation, I was playing a month later. After the 'roll', I was out for 3-4 months.

Need Birch to "foul" Embiid wisely

no need to rush him back, his future is more important than this series
