Was Embiid dirty tonight?
It felt like he was seriously pushing the envelope tonight. To me lines were crossed and retaliation should be on the table.

This is how he is always flailing and rolling around all over the place but just look like you’re going to touch him it’s a foul.
At least gasol was a big body he couldn’t bounce around

Yes. The play that will be talked about most will be the play where he injured Barnes, but that’s not where he was dirty. He was dirty on the other plays throughout the game.

Embiid is a disgrace. He's the top villain in raptors franchise history. He's surpassed Pierce, unbelievable.

He's not dirty he's just a fat flopper that puts himself and others in danger

There were a TON of someone looked at Embiid fouls called tonight. The refs really embarrassed themselves. Especially Little Guy Syndrome, #55. But he is always against the Raptors, so no surprise the league selected him to ref the first game. Early fouls to FVV and Boucher sealed the deal before the first quarter was even over.

he's bigger than everyone else and was recklessly throwing his weight around... the refs let it go, so he kept on going

Re: Was Embiid dirty tonight?
He wasn't dirty per se. But the refs allowed him to play recklessly by not calling him for any offensive fouls in the early goings. For example, when he leaned in with his shoulder and shoved Birch to the floor, the refs called a foul on Birch instead of Embiid. Even Hubie Brown said that should've been a charge.

This game reminds me of when we always used to draw Fat Tony for our first playoff game. His chip on his shoulder against the Raptors always hurt.
We need another team in Canada. Move the Grizz back to Vancouver.

This is the right answer. He is a ~300 pound, 7 foot flopper/flail-er which is pretty reckless when you're the largest guy on the court. With all the small ball that is being played around the league, I'm shocked he doesn't injure more players.

We need a new guy that's like Marc Gasol to check him otherwise he's just going to flail and hurt people

No
Siakam easily elbows so many dudes, but the difference is, where I dont agree with is he gets called for it 90% of the time. Embiid gets away with it.

Re: Was Embiid dirty tonight?
Dirty would imply intent.
I don't think there was any bad intent, just being out of control.

Re: Was Embiid dirty tonight?
No he is just a very large human being who is slightly clumsy and we are swarming him with smaller players right underneath him, it’s a recipe for a player getting hurt. I recall OG getting hurt guarding a aggressive big like Sabonis last season. Maybe it’s time to add a real big to our lineup this summer.

Re: Was Embiid dirty tonight?
His left forearm shiver to Barnes would have been called a flagrant 2 in the regular season. Clearly to the head with intent to injure. He tried to disguise it with a lame attempt at a block with his right arm but he was nowhere near the ball.
As I say, in the regular season, he's hitting the showers imo. In the payoffs they had to talk about it and review it before even calling an F1.

I've got a belt on that's holding up my pants and my pants have belt loops that hold up my belt. I don't know what's really happening down there. Who is the real hero? - Mitch Hedberg

Re: Was Embiid dirty tonight?
When you're completely reckless the distinction with being dirty starts to disappear, and the consequences are the same.
The reality is he needs to be reffed properly, and at a certain point the flailing and total disregard for anyone else on the court needs to lead to offensive fouls. I can't recall a player who used his body in the way that Embiid does. Shaq wouldn't have gotten away with half that stuff.
