Spoiler:
Linderbaum is the guy.

That's the reason why I brought it up earlier. The one thing I have learned from Jerry since 2002, is he is always all in and go for it vs. rebuilding. That is why we are still rebuilding after 26 years. Jerry goes all in every year like an idiot.

Has Jerry ever traded up in the 1st for an OL? Seems that in the past when he’s traded up it’s usually for a skill player or CB.

Ok I have a question for you guys. Let’s say the Cowboys trade up 10 spots and are sitting there with Jordan Davis, Zion Johnson, Tyler Linderbaum, Devin Lloyd, Treylon Burks, and Jameson Williams still on the board who are they picking?

I’m watching this again and I don’t think Jerry is talking about trading up from 24. He’s talking about trading back in to the bottom of the 1st if someone like Linderbaum is falling. I agree Jerry is a terrible poker player but if the Cowboys finish the 1st day of the draft and end up with Zion Johnson and Tyler Linderbaum I’m going to be pretty freaking excited. Just saying.

I do. At least we don't have to worry Jerry moving up to take Johnny Manziel,

You won't have to move up that much to grab one of these guys. If you want another stud WR to pair with Lamb than Jameson is your guy. Zion would be a great get. A stud at LG that will start day one. He might even turnout to be as good as Zack Martin. Those two should be your targets if you decide to trade up into the teens.

Linderbaum could very likely still be available at 24. So I wouldn't trade up for him. Same deal with Burks.

I also wouldn't take a run stuffing NT (Davis) that high. I actually prefer Devonte Wyatt over him. Some team will take Davis based on his combine. Wyatt is a better player.

Devin Lloyd will get taken earlier than people expect. He might even go as early as 9.

I really like Wyatt also. Davis might have some weight problems in the near future. Don't like his spare tire at all. Lloyd is starting to be my first choice. I remember the Giants in the late 80's and the strength of their team was their LB group. Taylor, Carson, Banks and Reasons. Not a fan of the 3-4 defense, but they were sure dominate for 5 years.

Devonte Wyatt definitely sounds like Jerry’s kind of guy.

My opinion of Wyatt has now changed. No longer interested in him with this type of red flag. Although I still like his talent, why take the chance. Character does matter in my book.

What if he’s available in the 2nd round? That’s where Jerry likes to take chances on guys with talent but are falling.

Yeah, I would take him in Round 2.

I remember someone saying they didn’t like Trevor Penning in this draft. After seeing this video I can understand why. Look at the size difference between these two.

The bright side is the Cowboys were scouting the DE Kyron Johnson. This kid looks like a beast and should be there for one of those 5th round picks.

Can I take credit??

Penning is the most overhyped OL prospect coming out. I've been shouting it for weeks now.

Neal
Cross
Linderbaum

Tier 2:

Smith
Lucas

There's a large gap between the tier 1 & 2 guys. I wouldn't take any of the tier 2 guys in the 1st Round.

Ultimately I think Penning will end up moving to Right Guard or Right Tackle.

If the Hawks end up taking him I'm going to be so pissed.

Penning straight up got his ass whipped in that video by a guy 220 lbs.

He gets bull rushed way too easily. He's not a great pass blocker & relies too much on his size & strength. Which is why people project him to play Guard. He has played RG before. That's where he will likely end up. But in no way would I spend a high pick on him.

I really don't think Ekwonu will fall to you unless the teams picking ahead of you are really stupid. Of course most of those organizations are quite stupid. I believe if you guys took Cross you would be happy if OL is the way you go.
