I honestly don't know if I want Simmons back if I'm the Nets. His offense will leave a lot to be desired unless he is the one running the offense, and I just can't see his defense being affective enough with how long he's been out for.

Yeh but Drummond, Dragic, Brown, Mills, Claxton were 12-16. That’s not happening second half

Kyrie has been the best player on the floor so far
He's just a ridiculous playoff performer and isn't reliant on refball so his game isn't impacted if they call it tight or loose

Incredible half aside from all the whistles. Gonna be a great series. Dragic is annoying haha.

I'd love to see the Celts pick up the pace. Get going in transition and don't let the Nets set their defense up. If they do that coming out of halftime it's going to change the game.

Nets need to start Edwards for Curry. I know you lose some offensively, but you legit cannot put Curry on Theis. That was a big reaason the Nets were in the bonus 4 min in.

Nash is the only coach in the league who would be ok with that defensive assignment.

Celtic have amazing first half and all they managed to do is tie first half... Nets must feel good .

Claxton is completely bad, I'd suggest waiving him during halftime

Theis and Brown stunk it up for the Cs and the team missed a bunch of free throws. Have to be ready to counter the inevitable 2nd half KD flamethrower quarter

They’re not gimmick lineups unfortunately. KD is the only healthy forward on the roster unless they want to play rookie Kessler Edwards.

Marks deserves blame for the lack of size at the 3/4.

Kyrie Ramadan is far superior to Jaylen Ramadan.

Claxton/Drummon got dunks, Mills/Brown hit 1 shot (i dunno why youre including them). Dragic was fire tho, for sure. Hard to see him continue to be this amazing

Yes. Tough shots going in doesn't mean great defense wasn't played.

54% from the field now, really tremendous defense.

I suppose that also means the nets are playing all time defense too considering the Celtics have a lower FG% and they're tied?

Nets are playing good defense too, yes.

I'm confused. Are you NOT impressed by Boston's defense? All-time can be a little hyperbolic, but the gist was just that they looked really impressive on D. If you have this much of a problem with it you can write my manager a letter. Otherwise maybe we just go on with our day.

We often romanticize past eras of basketball, but Mark Jackson's mentality is a relic of how the game was played in the 90s. So much of offense in that era was just find the best mismatch and go isolation 1 on 1.

It'll be a completely different crew for game 2.

Maybe not, if the Celtics change their defensive strategy. That’s directly a result of the Celtics game plan to have 3 guys within 3 feet of KD at all times.

That everyone is saying Nets should be happy to be tied after playing terribly. I’m saying their role players have shot 12-16 and that’s not going to continue.
