Surprised Drummond wasn’t back in the lineup to close out the game considering the Nets had the lead. Claxton played good and should’ve been inserted into the lineup sooner in the 1st but you must close out with a bigger lineup in the final minute when there’s chaos and body’s banging everywhere, both Celtics buckets in the final seconds were layups in the paint.

Kareem is the greatest post scorer of all time. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by skillset since even though Kareem only had one move, there was no reason to use any other. But if you want to talk about the post scorer with the biggest arsenal of moves it's Kevin McHale, and that's not really debatable. They run entire big man camps based off his footwork and low-post moves.
kareem had way more than one move

It's a hard pill to swallow, but it is the truth. Ky is the most talented scorer in NBA history
This is one of the worst takes I've ever seen

You are underrating Ky's post game. Not only is he efficient at it, but he routinely does it against players 4-5 inches bigger than him. His post game is HOF level. It's just that he is also great at everything else so it isn't one of his main weapons unlike Jordan

Hold up...are we really having a debate about **** Kyrie being better than Jordan at something? Maybe gambling...and crying too. Kyrie a better post scorer than Jordan or Kareem? GTFOH

Re: Eastern Conference | Round 1 | (2) Boston Celtics vs. (7) Brooklyn Nets
What I gather from some people is that the Celtics were easily the best defense in the league since Jan 1. And they contested every KD shot (aside from 2 or 3), they doubled him and stole it off him 6 times yet, but our defense wasn’t that good and he just had a bad game? What reality are you guys living in.

Ky is a better 3 level scorer than all of them
He’s also not the 1st option on his team like all of them.
Only team he was the first option on was Boston and he was not as good there.

Anyone doubts Bucks and Sixers "strategy" to avoid the #2 seed now? This Nets team is a legit East contender, if not a title contender. Boston is going to be in for a long series.
If there is no basketball in heaven, i am not going.

Re: Eastern Conference | Round 1 | (2) Boston Celtics vs. (7) Brooklyn Nets
I think the Celtics put maximum effort in stopping Durant and dared Kyrie to beat them. Then Kyrie stepped up and nearly pulled it off. The lack of defensive effort in last 40 sec. aside, the Nets really bothered the Celtics offense today which I didn’t see coming.
The Celtics are something like 5-16 in close games. Pulling out this game was both surprising and a huge confidence builder. However, if they are ever able to build a 15 pt lead at home, they can’t give it up so easily again. They got lucky today.

"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Kyrie an amazing player and I think the fans are going to make him want to beat Boston even more by heckling him… but Kyrie is such a weird dude- one press conf he Ghandi in India and the next week he Ghandi in South Africa -

Kyrie supposedly spiritual but has no problem cursing up a storm at a press conference. Dude is spiritual by name only.

Kyrie isn’t better than Kobe or Jordan, for a lot of reasons.
But if you had to do a skill competition, no one ever beats him. Lol .
Dude is a magician.

Kyrie is outstanding but..... this is in MJ's layup package.
https://youtu.be/-qCCm0V4hvw
I mean, he did stuff like this on a nightly basis, as well as literal perfect footwork. I just don't understand what he can't do that Kyrie can, except ball handling. And MJ had a better jumpshot inside 25 feet than Ky, we're talking a guy who shot 50% for his career at the guard position.
Can MJ float the ball with either hand? Shoot 90% from the FT line? Finish off either foot? Do a step back? Euro step? Shoot 40% from 3?
MJ is a legendary scorer but he is also 6'6. At that height, it is much easier to score with simple moves. Ky is smaller so it is much harder for him to score and yet he does it with ease.
If MJ had Ky's offensive skillset, he would average at least 40ppg

You can argue that if you are able to beat the Nets that it'll help you with pretty much anyone else you face in the East as well. It goes both ways.

Yes.
Idiots. They are banking on the nets winning . If Celtics win, upper hand Boston.

If Timelord was playing this would have been a blowout. Will take the win though. Celtics role players got out their jitters today and will hopefully be back in form for Game 2.

We are much worse without Rob. Our defense is *just* as elite as they come. With Rob, it's league breaking.

5-16, but we gotta check dates of those games. Just a weird season for Celtics and nets. This is a pair of, by performance healthy, 60-win teams.
If Celtics go go .500 in those close games this year , which is what it probably should be, that is a 61-win team.
