Why would a postseason game have any baring on who should win the regular season MVP award?

Jokic had a higher ppg, rpg, apg, bpg 2P%, 3P%, FT%, FG%, TS%, and lower tpg than Booker in last year's playoffs.

Booker had more steals per game and a higher FT%.
