Played less than a third of games in past 3 years and it was not just one season/injury did it.

For some reason I thought he was 25. Nope, he entered the league at 24 and is 29 now

Re: Possible Malcolm Brogdon destinations
he's good but injury prone now
he's signed thru 2025, honestly on 22 million a year it's not terrible.
no idea what happened to his 3 point shooting this season but he has potential to be a 50/40/90 shooter.
He's best utilized as either a guy to pad a contender or a tank commander. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy that will get a team "over the hump"
Maybe he ends up in Philly as part of a Tobias Harris trade? Another weird one would be if he wound up on the Lakers as a piece of a Russell WB trade? Basically teams that have stars and need solid guys to fill the minutes will be big time suitors.
He actually would be an upgrade over Dinwiddie in Dallas. Washington also needs a PG, just don't really know what Washington has that would be interesting to Indiana outside of young talent. Maybe KCP's expiring? But KCP has been fine for DC and it would be better to just extend him this summer. I also don't think DC wants to give up a young guy.
Otherwise New York could definitely use him, Brogdon and Randle do match pretty well in terms of salary. He'd be a solid lead ball handler for New York, the PG that they need. Randle is already out. He could be a good leader for the young core too that NY has.
I don't buy him going to Sac, I could see him ending up in Portland if Dame gets moved. Another interesting one would be getting him to the Clippers I'm sure there are enough contracts on the books to make the money work somehow. He'd be a nice complimentary piece and primary ball handler between PG and Kawhi although Reggie Jackson has had a huge career resurgence in LA.
Can't really see him going to a full tank team unless Eric Gordon REALLY wants to go to Indiana in which case that could also work if Indiana is willing to drop draft capital. Kind of a pointless trade really.
So yeah I would say the Lakers could be suitors as they look to retool this summer, the Knicks could be a destination, Philly might consider as well if he ends up as part of a Tobias Harris deal. The Mavericks could use his services and that's pretty much the 3 I'd say would be really interested in getting him. Dallas could flip Bertans contract with filler and picks. Indy would be happy because they get to continue the rebuild. Dallas would be happy to get off Bertans contract.

I'm sure they WOULD move Hield but not necessarily as a throw in to just get cap space they won't use.
Brogdon is under contract until 2025.
Really? Whoops. Shows what I know. Thanks.

He fits the Raptor profile, big for his position and hardworking. Seeing as how Malachi fizzled out, the Raptors are also in desperate need of a backup PG.
Not sure what the parameters would be, just spitballing.

No problem, he just signed his extension like 6 months ago.Effigy wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:Effigy wrote:Does Indy definitely want to move off of Hield? I could see a team like the Kings wanting him.
I wouldn't trade for him though.
Why wasn't he in the Haliburton trade lol

Kennard/Mann/Coffey for Brogdon works.
Zubac/Batum/Hartenstein
Kawhi/Morris/Batum
George/Kawhi/Morris/Batum
Powell/Brogdon/George
Brogdon/Jackson
That team is STACKED.
I’d rather move Morris than Kennard.
Morris is a very good 3 point shooter, but not as much of a knockdown shooter as Kennard. Also, Morris is a terrible rebounder- I’d rather re-sign Covington and trade Morris.
A concern I have about brogdon( besides his health) is that it looks like his 3 point shooting has declined substantially in recent years. I don’t watch many pacer games- is it his shot selection?
I think the Pacers would rather Kennard is what I was thinking.
Go Knicks!

I think he's a perfect fit for the Cavs
He's not the type of player who warrants multiple firsts. I'd be 50/50 on taking on his contract for an expiring given his injury history.

This makes pretty good sense from Washington's perspective - assuming that they're going to continue on the insane path of trying to rebuild around Beal instead of blowing it up and tanking properly.
The Wizards could really use a big point guard like Brodgon, and they have one forward too many so Hachimura is expendable. And KCP is a useful player that Indy can flip at the trade deadline for more value. Playoff teams can always use 3&D vets.

Literally the #1 guy I wanted the Raptors to get this year before I learned he couldn't' be traded. Perfect guy to be the 6th man who can start whenever needed, fits any role, and would be worth the contract.
Most people throw the term injury prone around without knowing anything about injuries or how they happen.
A lot of these guys end up suffering random injuries, often based on a particular instance of contact or exertion that can happen to anyone at any time with the right range of circumstances happening. If teams are going to devalue him for those past injuries without a clear and documented issue with his state of health now - some team is going to get a beast on the cheap and laugh.
Brogdon is an all star caliber contributor to a team who can literally do everything, has exceptional size and physcality, and is just an all-world level character and personality from what I've heard.
He's making $22.5M for the next 3 years after this which is probably one of the best contracts in the entire league considering what he does on the floor. He'll turn 32 midway through the last year of his current deal and with his game, I feel he can be as good as he's been through that entire stretch.
If I'm the Raptors, ESPECIALLY with the luxury of Barnes and Precious on rookie deals, this is a perfect move to try and really compete for the entirety of Barnes rookie deal while allowing the rest of the team to stay as well. Brogdon would be able to play starters minutes while also providing some more leadership the team could use. At that point I'd probably see if I can get TJ as well as his contract is as good as it gets for a bench player. Would require a third team but if I'm the Raptors this lineup for the next 2-3 years is very exciting:
FVV - TJ
GTJ - Brogdon
OG - Thad
Siakam - Boucher
Barnes - Precious

Indiana should start any deal with Mann as the starting point

The Pacers are behaving like a dirty franchise. They extend a guy during the season and put him on the trade block during the playoffs? Brogdan deserves better.

In reality he fits only one role, specifically the one he has on his mind which is the starting PG who initiates offense. That's pretty much the reason he and Bucks moved on from eachother, he wanted a team where he would have that bigger role. That and the bag of course.

He's a very nice player but his injury history is a big issue. I just notice he played 5 fewer games than KP in the last 3 seasons.

Sorry, it's a pet peeve of mine, and I've seen this misuse from you multiple times.

Only issue there is we'd have to trade Brook to match salaries, which he showed again tonight just how valuable he is to us.
