Such a weird team I swear.

"Wanted" why would a single game or even a hot or cold streak make you change your opinion? If you wanted him moved before the game you should still want him moved. I've wanted him moved since last season and really nothing's going to change that.

Even without Robinson's hot shooting the game would have still been a comfortable win. I would expect a player who only shoots 3s could have hit 2-4 of those 9 shots which would have still make the win quite comfortably? Hell, toss Oladipo in there for him and he does decent scoring while adding another good defender on the court vs negative.

The team is built on maximizing shooting of the role-players. Bam, Butler, Lowry and Oladipo are the play makers with Herro trying to make the move to being a playmaker vs just shooter/scorer.

Game should be closer, but this Atlanta team, especially without Clint, can not hang with our current team, Lets be real here Bam and Herro can play better on the offensive end ( Bam was instrumental in the defense played yesterday) I see us losing only one game to this team if we get our foot off the pedal and Trae and company go crazy, otherwise this should be a quick series. Now our next one should be way harder with that Maxey guy wreaking havoc, it will be a true challenge, lets not even get to the Bucks if we get to the conference finals.

I think we can all agree on 4 concrete things moving forward in these playoffs.
1. Duncan going super Nova 3pt assassin rain maker in these playoffs will be great for Miami Heat to win a championship.
2. Duncan going super Nova 3pt assassin rain maker in these playoffs will raise his value thus allow Miami to receive a better player in return if he is traded next year.
3. The way he was playing during the regular season would not have netted anything of worth unless we packaged him with more assets.
4. He has been wildly inconsistent so please refrain from thinking he will shoot 8/9 moving forward, lets get a series win or two out of the way before we call begin to call his regular season performance just an aberration.

Mia lives and dies by the 3.

If they shoot well, I favor them over anyone in the east.

Regarding Atl, baby food. They got tired legs, injuries, and in general, aren't playing at the level they were last year.

Miami lives and dies by the D***

Miami ebbs and flows by the 3. Miami has been the best 3-point shooting team this season. There will definitely be some playoff games where the 3-point shooting is subpar and our offense will likely be ugly in those games. I don't think Miami depending on the 3 ball for a full throttle offense means succeeding at shooting the 3 ball should be seen as flukey. A LOT of work and time goes into structuring the offense to get the right guys the right 3 point looks

Sure, if any player goes super nova it makes it much easier for the team to win.

I'm not even going to argue if Strus or Robinson is the better player, it's the amount of cap that is put towards Robinson which is the problem during an era of basketball where the league average for 3s is .354. How many 3pt shooters shoot better then league average for Miami?

PJ Tucker .415
C.Martin .413
Strus .410
Dedmon .404
Herro .399
Lowry .377
Duncan .372
Vincent .368

Not counting Oladipo at .417 because it's a low amount of data.

It's Moneyball, can you replace the big salary player with smaller salary players and in this era I believe you can. With Butler, Bam and now Lowry creating solid looks for the role-players with nearly everyone working on their 3pt shot. With all that said, why not look for more then just 3pt shooting from a player if you're going to give them a substantial contract(unless once again, he was retained to trade this summer)?

Robinson is the best 3pt shooter on the team, I'm fine with that, but that's all he brings at an average NBA level.

Duncan's defense and cuts have improved a lot since his first season. Clearly he works hard and is professional.

We don't have to choose between Robinson or Strus, because we have both players. If Robinson ups his regular season performance next season to 40%, he will be indispensible:

I don't believe that great shooting in the modern nba is as common as most here and--funny enough--not because of the actual shooting. The ability to learn to execute offensive plays so well is rare. Every time he shoots (hit or miss) is a successful execution of a play.

People celebrate our defense on Trae and then complain about Bam's performance. As if Bam is not the key to our entire defensive approach and impact.

I do agree that we need to see more aggressive Bam scoring to succeed throughout the playoffs. But, yesterday we did not. He was plenty aggressive on the defensive end and getting our guys open for the 3 point parade

Exactly lol. Like trust me I’d love to see him out there dropping 30 but it wasn’t needed last game. He literally locked up the entire Hawks roster and made Trae irrelevant.

I see people complaining about Bam being soft and a beta and you look at the score and we’re up 20+ lol. Like what do you want him to do? Start jacking up shots and disrupt the flow of the offense that helped build this huge lead?

He’s going to need to score more majority of the games we play from here on out but if we’re up 30 why are we complaining, especially with what he did defensively like you said

Oh and you can’t be “soft” and play defense the way Bam plays defense lol just not possible.

The reality is:
Tucker had the kind of game he doesn’t usually have.

Herro and Bam had bad games offensively.

If those two step up and Tucker drops his production, we’re still good. If they don’t step up and Tucker takes the excepted step back, we lose.

Every game will be different, I get what you’re saying but production can be replaced from anyone on the team on any given night so you can’t really break it down like that
