You're kidding right? Do you know how much **** any Philly fan takes about our fan base? ESPN, Fox, CBS, RGM they ALL look for every and any chance to **** on this fan base. So yeah, we're a bit touchy about accusations that a fan base (as written by a few different commenters) are trash, despicable etc.

How many times do we have to read posts on RGM or watch news media bring up a snowball incident from over 50 years ago?????? When most of us here weren't even alive when it happened.

Toronto was an incredible experience for me, when I spent 4 years there for college. Loved every minute of it. Canada is incredible and the city of Toronto is awesome!

Although living a block away from Jane and Finch was.... interesting.

So Barnes/Precious/GTJ/Birch all were not on the raptors up until the Trade deadline last year at the earliest.

Our 1st, 4th, 6th, 8th, 9th, 10th… players in minutes played all were not on our roster last year (other than 15-20 games after the trade deadline for GTJ and Birch).

This was a team who won 27 games last year. I’m not sure how anyone wouldn’t call a 27 win team who lost Lowry and added Barnes/Achiwua wouldn’t be in a development year.

This is thread drift but how is it even a question that Raptors are rebuilding? They got the ring in 2019, won 53 games in 2020 but fizzled in the bubble which began a soft rebuild when Gasol and Ibaka were not re-signed. They started losing badly in 2021 and decided to accelerate the rebuild by actively tanking & trading older Powell for younger Trent Jr. and tried to shop Lowry.

Masai Ujiri said last summer: "for now our opportunities are, I think, building around the young players that we have. ”Regarding Siakam & FVV, Ujiri said: “We have very young veterans. They are almost at the same age when we had Kyle and DeMar.

Ujiiri further said: "We are not a team of ‘now," there are going to be growing pains, trust me, you know like, sometimes it’s gonna be tough to watch but we know what’s coming..."

Back on topic... the Raptors are in tough against MVP-candidate Embiid and if Harden shows up Philly has the 2 best players on both teams. Add that Barnes, Trent and Young are now injured and it's not looking too good. But a 48-win season and 5th seed was unexpected and they're playing with house money. The season is already successful.

Both are true, and still the treadmill.

Dude, enough with the treadmill garbage. The Raptors aren't a treadmill. If you are a Sixers fan, you'd know Sam Hinkie said a treadmill team was a team that merely fought to make the playoffs as a 7 or 8 seed only to get whisked away by the higher seed.

RAPTORS ARE LEGIT. They aren't a treadmill. This isn't that hard to understand.

Yeah, I don't get who could hate Canada. Other than a large part of the country having perpetually terrible weather, great culture, great food, friendly people... would easily rather live in Toronto other than a handful of US cities.

That may be true but that was before so much load management and protocols which has depleted NBA rosters. That was even before the play in. Look at the Nets. Who has more hope to win a championship, the Net or the Raptors? The Raptors are firmly on the treadmill.

Maybe you didn't bother reading most of the pages on this thread while the game was going. There was a flood of fans, not just raptors, posting about typical Philly fan base being trash, classless, etc.

Those from the Raptors fanbase claiming it's classless to cheer an injury got reminded of their OWN incident. That's not getting mad or taking out frustration, it's literally saying to another fan base trashing us "you did the exact same thing so maybe don't throw any stones at us."

Also, I haven't taken out any persona frustration. I've made some comments in response to arguments I found faulty. I also complimented Raptors as a team, hoped Barnes as ok and asked about FVV. Maybe you were using the "royal we" version of YOU, but if you weren't I take issue with you claiming I did that.

Nothing you just said makes any sense or holds any logic. There are more super teams or near super teams than at any point in the league. You have big 3's or nearly big 3's in MIL, PHX, MIAMI, PHILLY, BOSTON, GSW etc. It's no shame that Raptors came in 5th behind those 4 teams ahead. They're a good team, with a very good GM and great player development coaches. The Nets are a totally unique situation and isn't even worth mentioning. To be fair, all you have done is repeat the same useless statements about treadmilling and trying to post vids to insult Raps fans. Enough is enough.

Because the Nets and Hawks underperformed the Raptors aren't a 7th or 8th seed. Treadmill.

Because the question is whether the Raptors are rebuilding. Yes, they added Barnes. They didn't trade a veteran for him or for the draft pick to draft him. They selected him with their pick. That doesn't transform the following season into a rebuilding season any more than it does for the other 25 times that used a first round pick on a player last year.

you just admitted that they traded 2 veterans starters for young prospects. It's not an OKC tear down but it's a rebuild

Thanks man - I do not understand why people feel the need to blindly hate the team they are playing against. Sure, I hope the Sixers absolutely implode and the Raps blow their socks off 4 games straight, but I can still admit you guys are a damn good team.

What enjoyment does anyone get from coming in and jus saying "treadmill" for 40 straight posts. I could understand it more if someone called the 2018 Raptors a treadmill, but the 2022 Raptors makes no sense.

Avg age of both team adjusted for minutes played in game 1

PHI - 27.1 years
TOR - 24. 9years (and that average is brought up by the bench which is crazy to me)

TOR is in no definition a treadmill team. Scotties first ever playoff game, GTJ's 6th, Precious' first (non garbage time mins), crazily enough only OG's 22nd game (and his first as more than a 3+d guy). Our most experienced guys are FVV and Siakam at 48 and 49 games a piece and Thad at 52.

Our broadcast showed a stat we had like 200 playoff games of experience and Philly has like 650.

If it is 2024 and we have the same core and we lose in round 1 again then OK, call us a treadmill, but for now I don't know how you can call this core's first playoff experience a "Treadmill"

Personally as a Raptors fan, I find the injuries and the multiple guys out completely disheartening.

The last two seasons have been so tough. It's really sucked the momentum from our championship run out.

- Tampa Bay Raptors (what in the god damn hell was that?)
- Fans coming to the Tampa Bay games and booing us.
- Aaron Baynes starting (jesus)
- Letting our Bigs go for nothing (Gasol/Ibaka)
- Basically tanking to make a bad situation better (So happy we got the 4th pick)
- This season have no fans in the seats for months.
- Injuries during the whole season where we miss multiple games with OG, Pascal etc.

It's been tough.

That being said, I think that we should be grateful we're in the playoffs. A lot of guys need to be ready and have that tenacity. Lakers would die to be where we are.

I get Gary is sick, but this is the playoffs. If it isn't Covid related, he needs to get his ass out there. Thade Young needs to tape up his fingers and come out.

Scotty is the only guy that gets a pass from me. Other then that, I think we need to tell these guys to suck it up and this is the playoffs. Maybe i'm spoiled by the crazy work ethic from Kyle Lowry, but there was never a playoff match I saw him miss. Even when shooting horrific %'s.

Anyways, if we do miss 3 guys, it's an organizational waving of the white flag to me. Congrats 76ers.

Roughly 18 months ago the Raps played in the 2nd round using a playoff rotation of Lowry/FVV/Powell/OG/Siakam/Ibaka/Gasol.

3 guys from that remain and are replaced with GTJ, Precious, Barnes, and to a lesser extent Boucher/Birch/Thad. How that is not a rebuild I will not understand.

Somehow if you rebuild and are good it does not count. Rebuilding only counts if you win 20 games and get a top 3 pick for 5 straight years

I agree with most of that but holy **** us not re-signing those 2 was such a dodged bullet. Imagine if we hung onto to those guys, paid them 9 million a year or whatever Serge ended up getting, and ended up to good to get Scottie? That is a nightmare ending for me.

Yeah , definitely a good situation out of that. The tanking season was a game changer, franchise wise, for us.
