Links. I would love to see people saying he is a better defender. No one has claimed he is a elite defender. A lot said he improved defensively. No one to my knowledge said he was an elite defender

Winning matters. 48 win season should be automatic disqualification from the discussion.

Even if it was no Suns would warrant MVP consideration

I don’t care if the analytics say jokic should be the mvp. The eye test tell you giannis, luka are better players but also more deserving of the mvp.

My eye test says the opposite in regards to MVP. How do we resolve this now?

If Kobe got robbed of it in 05-06 because his team was not top 4, then Jokic should also lose. The criteria for MVP seems to always be shifting..

Most value player means just that- most valuable PLAYER

The Larry O’Brien trophy is for the most valuable or best team… get over it-

Jokic MVP going for 3peat if GIANNIS doesn’t get even better next year

Exactly! "The eye test" is a euphemism for "Just my favorite" or "Just my opinion".

Solipsistic, myopic, egotistical reasoning.

Jokić deserved it. Embiid got a motor issue.

That’s the point. If you have a very mediocre team full of g- league talent, why should you get rewarded with the most prestigious regular season honor? MVP is not best player, it’s most valuable. If your not demonstrating your value with wins, how do we really know what happens when the supporting cast changes? We should not reward theoretical success, reward actual success (wins)

This is one of the most incoherent and baffling things I have ever read.

People need to drop the “does the most with less”narrative and remember that RS efficiency stats don’t = wins in the playoffs.

We all know who the real MVP the last 2 years has been and its the same as the 2 before that, they don’t just like giving it to the best player tho for some reason.

You're right about the 2nd part. If they become contenders next year when healthy, we'll look back at it as "What if they were healthy during Jokic's ATG seasons..."

He's also had the misfortune of just running into the best team in the NBA or the best team in his conference (Lakers, Suns) and possibly another champion (Warriors) 3 straight seasons.

It's not like he's getting bounced by the Wolves (no disrespect Wolves fans).

This helps Booker’s case for MVP considering yeah the Suns couldn’t beat a 36-46 team without him.

He had 31 in the first half before leaving with injury in the 3rd qtr….

Ooh! Ooh! Is it the guy who was getting bounced until he got an all star guard who can put up 20ppg and is an all defensive team player?!

He lost to Portland as well and they were no juggernaut. I guess we’ll have to see next year.
