Dont @ me. But he’s like SG version of Draymond Green in G2.

That could be the difference against teams of that caliber.
They have to continue to feature Maxey and set him up to be well-established in that role by the time those series come along. Last night they had a 20-2 scoring drought in which Maxey barely touched the ball. That can't happen.

Looking at a team like the celtics they have a bunch of guys that can switch and stay on him. This is why its unfortunate Harden never developed a post game, with his size and skill just to not have his game be so telegraphed. Maxeys speed should still play a factor against elite defense but the celtics will make him be a decision maker. He had a bunch of straight line drives against the raptors because their "bigs" were afraid to leave Embiid under the basket. Celtics recover quickly and have enough size to stay on Embiid and have one of their wings come over to help defend, thats where Maxey has to make the decision to swing it to the open man. The best option against that team will be continuoulsly moving the ball and not letting them load up on you every time down.

A lot has been said of how Harden makes the game easier for Maxey but Maxey's screening definitely makes the floor more exploitable for Harden. Both these guys are going to search and destroy Herro. It won't be pretty for them.

Good effort, great passing, a step back 3 here & there, and he’s breaking down his defender 1on1 pretty consistently. The way he makes passes is so brilliant. There was a moment where Tobias’ was drifting at the 3 point line and Harden threw a pass that forced him to cut leading to a Tobias drive & kick for an open 3. His passing really helps reinforce the need for Tobias to play quickly and we’re seeing the dividends there.
There will be moments when his lack of scoring becomes an issue (I’m a little nervous about PJ Tucker guarding him) but all the other parts of his game are clicking.

They are in a really tough spot in the offseason though. Harden has to get a deal more in line with what CP3 just got, not some 50M abomination.
Be much easier if James just opts in for now.

Just saw this post. It's pretty much what I've been thinking for a couple of weeks now. In terms of the future, the best thing might have been for the Sixers to lose in the first round if that might have meant the FO replacing Doc Rivers and refusing to max Harden. And the worst thing might be getting just far enough into the playoffs that the FO is tempted indeed to max Harden. He's so clearly past his prime that, while certainly a useful and canny player, a many-year max deal will likely hamstring the team and formalize the death of The Process. Best hope is that might agree to leave money on the table and try to recruit another star if they can offload Tobi's deal.
Not that this is really news to most folks here.
