Only 6 shots, pretty inexcusable if you ask me.

He has to demand the ball. He is no longer a rookie.

That sounds good in theory but why do you think the Bucks and Warriors made moves to make Giannis and Curry the focal point?

Because vets were in the way.

Jeff Goodman thinks Barnes should be ROTY and impacted winning more so than Evan Mobley. He doesn't have an official vote.

Who did the Bucks and Warriors trade?

Middleton was there the whole time. The Bucks were awful in Giannis’ first couple of years there. Parker suffered a ton of injuries, Middleton emerged as a great player and obviously Giannis developed into a superstar. No vets were in the way unless you consider Brandon Knight in the way. lol.

Warriors were also absolutely terrible for Steph’s first three years there. They drafted Klay in 2010 (I think) and had Ellis in front of him for a year. Team was awful that year, traded him for Bogut, moved Klay into the starting lineup. The Warriors moved a bad, inefficient player who wasn’t contributing to winning. That’s far different than moving veterans that are actually good and contribute to winning.

No one is in Scottie’s way. If he’s not our #1 in the future then it’s because of him not his teammates.

When will they announce this award?

Edit :

Looks like we'll get one a week maybe? But no exact date for each award

Will be a travesty if the pecking order hurts Scottie again next year. I want him to get used to being double teamed asap if this is the guy who's going to be our first option in the future.

Looks like they anticipate Barnes to play on Saturday for Game 4.

Raptors expect star rookie Barnes to play in Game 4

Down 3-0 in their series against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Toronto Raptors are expecting to have star rookie Scottie Barnes back for Saturday's must-win Game 4.

“We’ll have Scottie back on Saturday and another weapon to use,” Raptors head coach Nick Nurse said after Wednesday's overtime loss in Game 3.

They need clear defined roles asap. It's not going to work with everyone staying on the team. I mean, no true big in the starting lineup and bringing 4 bigs off the bench? That's not a serious lineup. They need to either trade for someone like Gobert or start Achiuwa at the 5 for starters, Barnes is either the PG or forward meaning Siakam/Fred or both need to go to even make this a decent fit.

Not even speaking about the pecking order.

There needs to be a real concept behind it. Just giving Barnes the ball more really doesn't make sense.

'Giving him the ball more' doesn't mean jacking up more shots.

This is what Van Vleet and Siakam have done to us and it's shown this playoffs.

Remember, Barnes is 2nd in Games next to Boucher this season. Barnes facilitates the offence to help give VV open looks if not directly, through other plays as he can make passes VV can't, as well as Siakam getting the ball with his defender moving that catches them off guard, as well as when Siakam ISO's, Barnes is a much better option to pass to inside than well, Birch.

Not to mention the guy has a game just ready for the playoffs.

Off a PNR, don't beat the guy who jumps out, but since he's smaller than Barnes, back him in slowly with many options to either score with a hook on either hand, or find a cutter or open person.

OG can't quite do that, VV can't do crap all on drives, GTR will take a midi pullup (which he's pretty good at) and Siakam for all his strengths, is more about beating his man cleanly.

It also hasn't helped GTjr has been sick the first 2 games.

Not to mention because Barnes can guard Harden, he also is much more free to crash the glass without worrying about getting back because he'd be guarding the ballhandler.
