I said it earlier in the thread and will say it again...Are we sure that we don't want Brunson?

Re: Brunson and Mitch Robinson
Brunson is solid and he plays well with Doncic (who is probably the closest comparison to Cade).
I know he's not the 6'6" defensive beast that some people want but that guy who can create, shoot the 3 AND defend multiple positions just isn't out there. If he was he'd be a max player we couldn't get anyway.
At this point I wouldn't fault anybody for doing do their due diligence and checking on Ayton, but barring that I still think Brunson should be our #1 target. It's not just that he's a solid player, it's that his value replacing CoJo is HUGE. It's probably the biggest possible upgrade we can realistically make (again, Robinson is NOT a significant upgrade over Stewart).

Brunson is the best FA we can grab and im more than happy at 18-20m. He's probably not even interested in us. Man I wish. The perfect fit.

Jordan Poole going to be a FA in 2023.... feels like he's going to be a MAX contract guy. He was a guy I thought might make sense if we decide to wait a year but I think he's in a spot now where GS lets Wiggins go and gives Poole a huge deal... GS might trade Wiggins so they can move Klay to SF and start the Poole/Curry backcourt.

Re: Brunson and Mitch Robinson
Poole is scorching hot. Warriors were patient with him — as good organizations tend to be — and it’s going to pay off.
Brunson probably just added 20% to his new contract tonight. It also increased the likelihood Cuban will keep him.

You can line up Poole in the same Line as Duncan. No Michigan fan seen either being what they are currently. Unreal.
Please give me Brunson.

Re: Brunson and Mitch Robinson
Here’s an article on Brunson’s possible free agency. This was before the monster playoff game back in February. He scoffs at a max contract and goes on to say unless he has a monster playoffs and leads them deep into it.
https://www.spotrac.com/research/nba/a-deep-dive-into-jalen-brunsons-contract-options-1408/
Cubans got money, but that’s some serious tax bills and if he wants a long run it would be just the beginning of the repeater tax. They don’t print money like the Warriors do.
I was worried about him showing out in the playoffs. It’s gonna cost a lot to sign him now. Forget 20-25 mil, If he keeps playing like this he’ll get near max 30-35 mil.

Or they just max him and keep everyone. The Warriors print money. They are set to pay the repeater tax forever lol.
Here’s an article from a couple years ago. Before they even opened their new building they made $2 billion in tickets, suites and sponsorships. Silicon Valley loves the Warriors.

Only in the pistons forum is a undersized PG/SG like Brunson not capable of playing defense. Every other fuc**ng forum has him as a dog on defense. But you guys want 6'6" fu***ing all stars at every position. Like a bunch of idiots.

For 23-24 season....
Curry $52
Klay $43
Draymond $28
Wiseman $12
Kuminga $6
Moody $4
------
Poole $35
Wiggins $40
Total 8 players at $220 million, with a luxury tax at $160 million total payroll at:
$160 + luxury tax.
$12.5 (for $160-$165)
$13.75 (for $165-$170)
$17.5 (for $170-$175)
$21.25 (for $175-$180)
$23.75 (for $180-$185)
$26.25 (for $185-$190)
$28.75 (for $195-$200)
$31.25 (for $200-$205)
$33.75 (for $205-$210)
$36.25 (for $210-$215)
$38.75 (for $$215-$220)
Essentially $220 million in regular payroll and $285 million in luxury tax payments for just the 2023-24 season. Over a half billion $$$ would be crazy to see a team pay for a single season. Wiggins would cost them $260 million total for the season on a $40 million contract

Going from Cojo and Hayes to Brunson will quite literally be night and day. The scoring output alone along with consistent defense will open up so many things on offense for our team
It'll be eye Bleach for all the messy guard play from the past two years

Poole was always a flame thrower but he was very streaky and just throwing anything up. Those guys are easier to be patient with. A lot like Bey.
Our issue is we have some low offensive potential guys in Hayes and Stewart, much harder to be patient because their peak appears to be reliable, slightly above average guys.
Thats why there are a lot of misses in the draft after the first few picks, but then a lot of hits in the teens with the higher floor, lower ceiling type guys.

Yeah Poole ain't going anywhere. The Warriors will gladly shed contracts if need be as they shown with dumping Iggy in the past or when they dumped RJ to the Jazz for extensions
Barring of course he wants his own team, but just look at the team when they play? It's joy since the chemistry is completely on point and they always had a great crowd of rich snobs cheering at every lay up

And I wouldn’t put it past them. That’s what makes it tough to gauge what they might do. The Warriors value is crazy. Their ownership group bought it for 450 million and is now worth over 6 billion. Combine that with what they value which is winning championships, and they are on another level.
Analysts have been saying they were crazy to keep paying the repeater tax and they just keep cashing it in.

Brunson is a good player 20mil/yr for him is a good deal. That's good starter money.

Depending on how the playoffs go he could work himself into a $120 million deal over 4 years.
Indiana is reportedly wanting to move on from Malcom Brogdon(29) and wants to make an offer to Brunson(25) to pair him in the backcourt with Haliburton.
It might get to the point where Brunson makes more than Simons.

They don't have the cap space to pursue him outright. They'd either have to shed a buncha salary or do some sorta S&T. I wouldn't take them too seriously.Kalamazoo317 wrote:Knicks seem to be circling Brunson as well.
