Whether Doc gets fired or not is really the leading indicator for me on if we’ll be a championship contender moving forward. It’s a decision entirely within our control that needs to be made to win a title. If we end up delaying the inevitable because of his contract then I think we’re **** moving forward.

During an ESPN segment on Nick Nurse being rumored to be desired by LA they mentioned that you can only trade a draft pick for a coach, not a player on a roster. So if by some miracle the Sixers were able to trade Doc, it would be for a 1st or 2nd rounder.

I'd happily take a second rounder from 2050

Doc pisses me off too

but if they are going to fire him they need to hire THE guy.

I don't think hiring MDA is that either. Just as playoff failure heavy as Doc and we don't really have the pieces to run his system IMO.

I think giving Cassell a shot would be neat but he'd probably run the same **** as Doc lol.

If we are going to can Doc (and I actually think he would pull a "you can't fire me...i quit" and go the Lakers or get a golden parachute if nothing else) then I need the next guy to be an tactician. We have had enough players coaches and ego guys who get by on past success or relation to Pop. And yeah those guys don't grow on trees and aren't easy to find...but as much as Doc makes me want to punch a wall...I'd honestly keep him and simply not sign washed bigman for him to play lol.

I'd be very happy with Joerger or Burke, and I don't believe either would run Glenn's system like Cassell might. I agree with Mik that we need more of a tactician, and definitely not another "players coach".

However, I can't disagree more strongly with the idea of keeping Glenn under any circumstances. If he stays, just blow this whole thing up because it would only end up being the most brutal kind of frustration for anyone who cares about the Sixers.

It's amazing to me the parallel between Glenn and Andy Reid during his interminable stay here, and if we kept Glenn it would only be the same - years and years of frustration with solid rosters and a stubborn blockhead coach making the same mistakes over and over and over.

It'd be great to swindle an asset out of them in a trade for Doc but don't think they have anything worthwhile available to trade. At least you can get out from the contract so makes ownership more willing to pay good money to the next coach.

Monk and a future 1st works for me :D
I'd throw in Kate Smith and cash considerations

This guy is gone after this season barring a miraculous eastern conference finals appearance and good riddance. Except for when he had an insanely good Celtics roster he never gets the best out of his players when it matters most. D'antoni, Vogel, or Quinn Snyder, to name just a few, would be an upgrade. Even on the current staff I would rather give Sam or Dave Joerger a shot.

Glenn really pushing for that 3-0 blown lead record.

The oldman wants to make history before he retires, got to respect that.

Either promote Cassell, or go after Quin Snyder. JMO.

Udonis Haslem.

We need someone who can push Embiid and lit this team if it plays less than 100%.

He's a caricature of himself at this point. He really spent 30 minutes of an interview just deflecting and blaming everyone else. Shameless man.

Doc is almost as insecure as Raptor fans.

Looking forward to hearing his excuse for 2022 after Toronto imminently completes their historic comeback.

If the Sixers lose the next 2 games, Glenn can make all the excuses he wants. From the unemployment line.

As a Clipper fan, Doc never said "we blew that" after he blew the Nuggets series. He put all the blame on Zubac during the series (while his guy Trez was getting torched every game with no adjustments), and then as the cherry on top, tried to deflect blame onto Ty Lue after we fired him ("he was sitting next to me, there won't be much of a difference"). He is so shameless, it's not even funny.

Also, him blaming CP3's absence for the Rockets series is nonsensical. We won one of the games CP3 missed, on the road in Houston. Then we blew them out in Game 3 when CP3 came back "on one leg." You can tell he's in a flop sweat trying to throw every excuse at the wall and hoping nobody remembers what actually happened (or spends a few seconds on Google).

Blaming the roster for his Orlando meltdown is also rich. That roster had prime T-Mac and would have also had prime Duncan on it if Doc didn't screw that up.

If Glenn was a serious coach who cared about winning, his response would have been "I'm not focused on the past right now, I'm focused on the Raptors. Next question." But his narcissism wouldn't allow him to not run through his litany of excuses.

The Sixers need to fire this guy ASAP. It never gets better with him.

He really is an embarrassment.

If it was 100% certain that losing this series would mean his being schiitcanned, I would honestly be very torn.
