Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets have been a disappointment

Post#1 » by facothomas22 » Thu Apr 21, 2022 2:05 am

The Brooklyn Nets and Kevin Durant so far in this series have been a disappointment. As for Kevin Durant,he hasn't looked like a normal superstar in this series vs the Celitcs and that's without Robert Williams playing. In his first game,Kevin Durant was carried by Kyrie Irving and in game 2,he was carried by the role players. As you see below, his shooting numbers have been quite poor. Inexcusable

Edit: His turnovers have been quite awful as well

As for Steve Nash, oh my god that man can't coach.Like at all. Not making adjustiments and he seem the guy who doesn't hold his players responsible when they mess up. The Nets should have hired Mark Jackson, Taylor Jenkins or hell even kept Kenny Atkinson. At this rate, the Nets are going home in the first round, which would offically make them the most disappointing them in the eastern conference and the 2nd most disappointing team in the entire NBA this season. This is what happens when players try to form superteams. They lose depth, future assets(1st round picks) and often have average to below average coaching. Let this season be a lesson to any team that try build a Superteam. It usually doens't work out and usually leads to disappointment and a uncertain future.

This is true, but it's only been two games.

KD wasn'tprepared for 90s basketball and there were zero adjustments. Nets also didn't clamp down on the other end using the rope the refs allowed.

This is always the issue I have with people who put both of them so high. They aren't quite the playoff performers people make them out to be. They can have those games where they put up like 40-45 on 80% ts but also have those games where you just wonder where they were at or what they were doing(more so with Kyrie). KD was too passive in his Okc days and had it too easy at GS. He's never really borne the full responsibility of leadership or carrying a team on offense in the playoffs outside of last year.

I wonder if Ben Simmons will make it back in time to try and save the Nets from getting swept.

If they're down 3-0. Do you think he comes back?

The Harden trade right now looks terrible. Simmons is out even though he hasn't played all season. Curry is kind of redundant with Mills and Drummond is unplayable against playoff teams

To be fair, they have to go up against the Celtics. I don't think any of the other teams would be doing much better.

They're idiots for trading Harden.

The team is a huge mess from top down. Sean Marks needs to rule this organization with an iron fist and not an over glorified streetball team ran by the players.

I’m not disappointed at all because of this thing called team structure. Seriously people, how long have you been watching basketball for? It doesn’t matter how talented KD and Irving are. They are going up against an elite defensive team, stockpiled with multiple lengthy and versatile players. I don’t know why people expected Brooklyn to just dominate them with no effort.

With that said, the series isn’t over and anything can happen.

Kevin Durant, the guy who’s only rings have been when he joined the greatest NBA team in 2 decades was a disappointment after trying to lead a team again… shocking.

No, they’re idiots for trading for him in the first place. Harden would not be saving them.

I mean, in terms of pure talent, I get it. But they didn’t even begin to think about team chemistry. Time and time again it’s proven that just stacking a team with talent matters less than making sure your team is talented AND has cohesive chemistry and strong leadership.

KD has never been a good lockerroom leader his whole career, same with Harden and Kyrie was always a cancer in every lockerroom he’s been a part of… then add onto that that KD has some weird loyalty to Kyrie above almost all else… that was just a mess of a lockerroom from the word go.

Not sure anyone thinks that. I saw Boston as the favorites in this series but KD and Kyrie still deserve some criticism for a game like tonight.

The Nets were expected to be Championship contending, even before they got James Harden and are expected to contend for a Champiosnhip now psot James Harden. Rememeber, the Celtics don't have Robert Williams,Jayson Tatum had a poor shooting night and Jaylen Brown looked soild, but even he wasn't great. The truly great teams would've taken advantage of that. The Nets could've easily stolen game 2 from the Celtics and as a result gotten them home field advangtage if Kevin Durant showed up and if Steve Nash wasn't such a terrible coach. Now the Nets are in a must win situation or this season is over for them.
