In 2013, the Brooklyn Nets traded Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, Kris Joseph, Keith Bogans and MarShon Brooks, first-round picks in 2014, 2016, the rights to swap first-round picks in 2017 — and last but not least, their 2018 first-round pick.

2016 pick Brown
2017 pick Tatum

Damm karma lol

And now they've done it again. Except this time with Kyrie and Durant being younger and coming in FA they actually had the firepower + role players + flexibility to build a dominant team. Imagine them with Allen and LeVert and some other 3-D guys. Instead, they can't guard a chair.

Maybe Simmons helps that all next year. If they win a title it's worth it. But... I have my doubts.

I've decided I'm just going to enjoy this moment instead of waiting for the inevitable Durant supernova burst that gets further augmented by the refs and leads them to a championship.

Melo finally got it right on 1 guy. I want to see Tatum develop and turn In to be more than an ISO chuck. He’s showing me something.

Finally?

not trying to boast about spotting his potential, i think it was quite plainly obvious to anyone who watched him play, however his continued improvement especially from a decision making/unselfishness standpoint is very promising for any c's fan

he's averaging 9 assists in these last 2 games ... you can't double him anymore, can't hope to guard or even contain him 1v1, limitless range, excellent (maybe even underrated?) defender ... he is essentially a player w/ no distinguishable weakness on top of being a terror of a matchup on both ends due to his size/length

sound familiar to anyone?

It wasn’t obvious here  I fought majority of this board when he was in Duke cause people thought he was a selfish ISO player that played no defense. I don’t even know how people thought that if they watched him lol

i was largely just an observer back in those days - though that doesn't surprise me at all. people here will underrate anyone who isn't a clear cut mvp candidate. unless of course they are on our team - in which case we will vastly overrate tf out of them and think we can get sga/donovan/superstar for obi/nerlens/expiring **** contracts

A lot of people kept comparing him to Melo (in a bad way). Really nasty people.

What’s more: not necessarily with those picks (didn’t look it up) , but in those years Boston drafted

2014 Marcus Smart #6
2016 Tatum
2017 Brown
2018 Grant Williams #22

celtics got paid to draft who they wanted and got to give him a lower contract in tatums case.

That being said, 2 games is 2 games. wont even remotely start celebrating till its 3-1 or 3-0. Only thing thats happened is boston protected their homecourt

Durant is a dominant 1v1 scorer but he's not great at exploiting or making plays out of the double-team. In my opinion that's why he has never led a team to a championship, and why he's a tier below players like LeBron, Curry, Kawhi, Dirk and Kobe.

I don't think I've ever seen a great player face single coverage as often as he did when he was playing for Golden State.

His rings in Golden State don't count if we're debating his all-time ranking imo. These were free rings. He has to win in Brooklyn.

If you're going down memory lane, Lillard was the Nets pick too, they traded it for Gerald Wallace.
