Meaning you will continue to blab on and on about the refs? Pretty sure the person who posted the foul or flop tweet isn't even a raptors fan...

Blabbing on and on about the refs? You must have me confused with a Raptors fan - or Nick Nurse. Your choice.

I thought a gentleman's sweep is when one team wins game 1, then the other team wins 4 in a row. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I may be wrong too, but I think it refers to a 4-1 series win, regardless of the losses' order.

I thought it was where the team wins their one game at home and more specifically game 4 so they get to win their last home game but idk.

Brilliant defense putting hands on him where he won't make a play.

I can't even tell when 76ers fans are being sarcastic.

Like this is a joke, obvious flop. 7 ft. mountain moved by minor hand check. I guess you can call it both but yikes, not mentioning the flop is burying the lead.

So you are okay with little guards like Kyle Lowry selling fouls cause they are smaller? And big guys can’t sell fouls. Let’s get real here. Kyle Lowry is a built like a tank and he will flop at the smallest contact.

Embiid takes a ton of punishment and can probably fight through min contact just like little guards like trae and Kyle. But little guards shouldn’t get a pass for foul baiting also. It takes a ton to really knock Lowry down but he will flip to sell the foul.

Definitely, I think Toronto's roster is too good to not win at least one game.

Why would I bring up the refs - unless it is in response to whining Raptors fans? I think the refereeing has been fine. The better team is winning this series on merit, and talking about the refs is an excuse.

Good on Embiid for calling Nurse out on his ish. Didn't see much blow-back from the national media on it either. Did you? Oh, I forgot - the national media LOVES the Sixers...right?

Its pretty simple just don't touch him when he's off balance and the calls go away.

It was a savvy vet move by FVV. Unfortunately for him the ref was standing right there on the baseline and saw it.

The gentlemen discussing the different types of sweeps and how they occur would be wise to proceed in their discussion with maximum caution. I've seen some horrifying escalation of insults tossed at Raptors fans for suggesting the 4 straight wins vs the Bucks in the 2019 ECF was called a backdoor sweep.

I've always known them as the following:

backdoor sweep - winning 4 in a row after any amount of losses (but at least 1).

gentleman's sweep - winning a series in 5 games, regardless of where the 1 loss occurred.

What did bucks fans think that was..?

Correct. Losing the first game and then winning 4 in a row is the douchebag sweep. With the false hope and such.

Anyone actually know this? Lol
I also thought it was a 4-1 series regardless of order. The one where the other team wins the first game but loses 4 in a row I’ve always known that as a “backdoor sweep” but wondering if that’s made up now lol

If I remember correctly, the interlocutors considered that a backdoor sweep was a completely made up term, probably of Canadian origin, who they considered to be a citizenry consisting entirely of dumbasses and alike. Charming people, really.

A gentleman's sweep is ONLY when the winner of a 4-1 series, loses game 4 on the road, so they can close out at home in game 5.

So if the lower seed pulls off the upset, they can't possibly use the term gentleman's sweep?

No, they can't/shouldn't. The gentleman's sweep implies the loser of game 4 lost just to be nice, and let the other team win their last home game of the season, because they would rather wrap it up at home. If the lower seed loses game 4 at home, they didn't do it to get the chance close out on the road.
