You mean the passing, point guard version of Clarkson? Yes!
Unfortunately, defensive minded Forrest is out with another injury after coming back from injury to play 12 minutes in the OKC game, so maybe we'll see some more of PG Butler and/or the PG version of Clarkson tonight.

He usually defers back to chuck first JC when Donovan is around though. Hope we get to see PG JC tonight even if Mitchell is back. Clarkson PnR with bigs is the staple back in his rookie year in LACrunch 99 wrote:tugs wrote:Would you wanna see more of this Clarkson? I do, then let NAW score more

Wow! Season is, thankfully coming to an end. As the Playoffs are looming, I think we can forget about winning a series, I'm seriously questioning if they will be able to win a single game. Far cry from making a deep playoff run.
On December 31, the record was 26-9. Since January 1, 2022, the record is 22-24, so they are a losing team in 2022 as the best they can be is 23-24 and that is IF they don't lose on Sunday.

We can win a series and can certainly win some games. But if we finish 4th-5th, we're probably not getting past the Suns.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

This game was about the Suns imposing their dominance should the Jazz somehow win a series (or 2 if they fall to 6th). The way the Suns so effortlessly pounded the Jazz in the 4th quarter was all about a potential 2nd round matchup and the mind games that become so important in the playoffs. I think the biggest loss this season was when Ingles went down and then was traded. He was the mind game expert and his presence would have made this team better.
No one fears the Jazz, which may be the only positive thing going for them. Every team has watched them give up big leads to both the best and the worst teams in the league this year. I'd love it, but I would be very surprised if they win a series. A couple of games maybe is their ceiling right now. Just too fragile.

Marc Stein reports that Quin isn't a free agent coach this summer, but how many years he has left on his contract is unclear. The Jazz have recently tried to extend his contract.

The question is when did he receive that extension offer, and who offered it. Was it during DL's time and before Ainge arrived?

I would doubt it, Quin is a good coach that is lacking the necessary pieces to win. I think he has another year before he’s on the hot seat. Ainge has us a step in the right direction, Juancho will start next year because O’Neale will be gone, Conley will be gone for a wing, etc. I see us with a much better team that can actually defend.
Ingles is cooked.

Eh. Snyder didn't lack the pieces to win when he let the team drop a 3-1 lead against Denver, or when he had a 2-0 lead against an injured Clippers team, or when the Jazz lost big leads all season long.

True, he has issues adjusting but I would counter that how can you adjust properly with a roster that doesn’t fit.

If you've got the players that can fit well enough to build a 20+ point lead by half or even the third quarter, then isn't about the coach getting the players to continue doing what got them there? If that isn't working, then isn't it the coach who should be able to recognize that and adjust? I don't think it's as simple as players not fitting, Quinn has to take the bulk of that responsibility.

Dallas without Luka (for now). Then the Suns are going to be missing Booker for 2-3 weeks. Would I prefer the Jazz beat full-strength teams? 100%, yes. But the road to the conference finals is wide open for the Jazz. After last season's playoff injuries, all this year they've been preaching health as #1 priority. Well ... it's time to put up or shut up.

Game plan is to not shoot any 3 tonight? Wow and getting killed by the three ball. Tired of watching the no show jazz.

If the Jazz team was a dog you would tell the kids it went to stay at a relatives ranch where it could run around all day...
Mercifully stick a needle in this team. They are done.
The Danny Ainge time with the Jazz is upon us. God help us all!!! We will all be complaining about Ainge in 4-5 years (if not sooner).

If this Jazz team was a dog you would tell your kids that it was poorly trained and kept wetting the bed so you had to get rid of it.

Rudy is so limited offensively, that it's like playing 4 on 5. Mitchell is so limited defensively, that it's like playing 4 on 5.
Rudy gets irritated that Mitchell won't defend. Mitchell gets irritated that Gobert can't score. Hence, the rift between the two.

The only difference is, 1 player tries on both ends despite limitations, while the other only plays on 1 side.

Best joke of the game! Player who score 23 points on 21 attempts are irritated with bad offense of one who score 17p on 8a ...
But.. If it is not joke but truth, it is clear that this team goes nowhere in NBA. Actually, they have to go second grade to refresh basic math.

Inigo Montoya wrote:I wonder why we signed Gay if we aren't playing him in the playoffs, because we didn't sign a 35 year old vet for the regular season.
Sad that 35 year old Gay is in the first year of a three year contract (third year player option), and Coach Snyder has apparently already decided that he is unplayable in the playoffs. It is extremely unlikely that Gay is going to become more playable at age 36 or 37. I think he might be able to play a few effective minutes against Dallas backup centers Kleber or Bertans with Juancho or Paschall in the lineup as well, and change up the look of the Jazz a bit.
