Sports Illustrated has put Steve Nash on blast

Sports Illustrated: Steve Nash Is Being Exposed Against Boston.
https://www.si.com/nba/2022/04/24/nets-celtics-kevin-durant-steve-nash

The biggest mismatch of this series is in the coaching box. Ime Udoka is dominating. This is Phil Jackson vs. John Calipari. Joe Torre vs. Grady Little. Bill Parcells vs. Rich Kotite. It’s become embarrassing. Brooklyn’s offense is a steady diet of isolations. Movement is minimal. They set screens to create switches, but in those situations Boston’s defense doesn’t miss a beat. Injuries to Ben Simmons and Joe Harris have crippled Brooklyn’s depth but five minutes of Cam Thomas in the second quarter can’t be worse than watching a visibly exhausted Durant fumble through the final minutes.

I'm glad this is happening. The media is finally realizing that the Nets don't even run an offense

I was blindly optimistic this was going to be Nets winning this series in 6 or 7. I thought Durant was going to play at the same level as last year and even this year. I think he has succumbed to the overall minutes, not having a championship level coach, and a team that lacks a firm identity due to the multiple rotational changes that happened. Nash simply has no answer, he lacks a game plan and offensive sets, he has been exposed. Griffin should have been in the lineup since the last time he played. The way this game ended with Durant trying to defend with 4 undersized players was an act of desperation and highlights how lost the coach is on his rotations. This team needs a coach, and the star players need to show they are committed to winning at any cost. That is what has to happen above anything else. The roster is talented enough to win it all and there is even room to improve by getting a lengthy defensive wing. There is no doubt in my mind this is a chip level team next year with the right coach and a couple roster tweaks.

Back to the topic: I do not expect Simmons is able to contribute much if he plays in G4.

Its insane that no one stands up against this. This is racist on its own. You need help Prokorov. You have a great basketball mind but youre into tunnels sometimes. The Kyrie tunnel, the everyone who even mentions Boston is racist tunnel, and currently also the we’re a good team it’s all on Nash tunnel. There is no grey in your mind. No one dares to counter you on this forum but it’s beyond madness you can keep making the statements you’re making.

Stop the cap. Boston does have a reputation and you really don’t want me to show you any cited source examples.

Oh wait. They don’t. They go to LA, NY or Miami. I wonder why.

Boston is just an east coast Salt Lake City.

how does this work? you guys lose and cry racism?

Your last point is false in itself. Boston has signed one of top free agents literally every time it's had cap space recently

I said major free agent star. Kemba is not that lol clearly

We all said you all are a racist city since every other series we kicked your Celtics asses in lol Especially, last season with the water bottle incident with Kyrie.

Congrats on winning the first playoff series against us in franchise history.

I hope you all enjoy a lifetime supply of the tainted lucky charm cereal.

Kemba was coming off his age 28 all-star season, and had just put up 26 PPG. He was one of the top free agents in a crowded market. They also added Horford in 2016 when they had space (and were in the mix for Durant) and added Hayward with their space in 2017. Those are the only times they've had major cap space in the last 20 years.

And what's crazy is that the Celtics had a gigantic talent drain - Morris, Rozier, Hayward, Horford, Kyrie - all basically gone for nothing. Hayward's injury changed so much. And yet...the roster is still in great shape today, the team has all its own picks past this summer. Ainge and Stevens have done a great job of not listening to the types of people who wanted to trade it all for DeMarcus Cousins 5 years ago.

I was legitimately upset after Game 3. But its just time to move on.

If there are other Nets fans feeling down, remember its just sports.

The Nets winning a Championship won't put money in your bank account or get you laid lol.

Right now I care as much about the Nets as KD/Kyrie do. Not much.

Not even planning on watching Game 4.

Will tune in next season when we get a new coach and some sensible roster construction.

Even then I think we are a 2nd round exit at best. Who knows if Kyrie even plays next year.

Before the series I was ready to give Nash 90% of the blame.

Now its more like 50% along with KD and Kyrie.

I know he still sucks. But this was an impossible situation to coach in.

Even with a good coach we were first round fodder. The Stars here don't care.

Both he and Horford were when they first signed as was Hayward. People also forget Durant had his two finalists as Boston and Golden State the year he signed with the Warriors. Boston has no problem luring talent.

I'm not really sure why there's a debate about Boston as a city, but I lived in NYC for 4 years during college and I live in Boston now.

I really like NYC a lot, there's a ton of stuff to do, but I got pretty burnt out with living there at the end of my 4 years there because of the overcrowding in Manhattan (I lived in Manhattan and the Bronx) and just overall prices of the city too. Also I worked in Brooklyn, there's some great spots like the Brooklyn Barge, but the hipster/gentrified vibe was definitely not for me at times.

I'm someone who's very low maintenance so Boston always was ideal for me. But to each his own.
