I think that's the closest we've seen.

I still remember that vividly. The relief I felt after that fourth quarter was immense. It felt like Bonzi Wells was killing us in that series

That is one of the great forgotten playoff series.

Blazers had lost 10 straight playoff games before rolling off Games 4-6
Mavs had fully taken the leap to legit contenders.
And a very stressful 3 quarters before the 4th Q comeback/collapse

dirk reputation between that and 2007 would have been in the gutter, even 2011 may not fully have changed it

If the NBA feels ratings slip and revenue not at tip top shape, then of course.

The NBA will decide that.

Actually, I think if Fred is out, it helps the Raptors. He's been hobbled since before the all-star game and he hurts us on defense...also hasn't been as accurate from the field.

I think no Fred is better than hobbled Fred.

If the Raps somehow win game 5, I can't see the series not going at least to 7 games.

As people have mentioned, the 3 point prevalence makes Basketball a bit more like Baseball and Hockey where even if a team is playing well if their 3s don't drop, they're likely to lose.

So far this series...
-Philly has outperformed from 3
-Raps have underperformed from 3
-Fred's play has hurt us...if he's out, advantage Raptors, if he plays hobbled, advantage Philly.
-Trent was sick and basically a no-show games 1&2...but has been trending upwards since game 3.
-Philly has no answer for Siakam, and Siakam finally started asserting himself in game 4.
-Barnes was out 2 games, but just came back game 4.
-Raps, from the coach on down believe they can win this series
-Embiiid's thumb is banged up and he's clearly bothered by it.
-Philly has a history of choking and the pressure on them will only grow the longer this goes.
-Raps have already cut it to 3-1 and it's now a conversation because of Doc's history...if they don't finish things off game 5...we'll be back in Toronto with the series at 3-2...Toronto's belief growing and all kinds of pressure on Philly to get the job done. Toronto would have to be favored in this game.
-If they get there, game 7 would be a toss-up, but Raps would have all the momentum and Philly would have all the pressure with a potentially hostile home crowd

With Boston/Nets
-Nets were super close in game 1.
-Nets big 2 have underperformed
-Simmons coming back will be an x-factor

In that series, I don't see as clear of a path for a comeback, but you can't count Kyrie and KD out until they're officially eliminated.

Imagine the narrative if Simmons helps lead his team to a 0-3 comeback while Harden's team loses after being up 3-0.

Super unlikely to happen with either series but I can absolutely see the path. Moreso for the Raptors than the Nets though.

But in all seriousness, Im not saying its going to happen to Doc this series. But ya if I were to put money on the coach I think it happens to, it would be Doc.

Maybe, one day. Will be super had though. If you are down 0-3 it means you are the inferior team to begin with. Then to think an inferior team is going to win four straight against a better team who most likely would have home court advantage in a game 7.

But if it does happen one day it will be a one off, flukish type thing and not something to expect again anytime soon.

Unless some economic shift happens that completely shuts down sporting events, making them irrelevant......yes

Yes. All it takes is big injuries to the team up 3-0

Yes, but most likely a big injury will somehow be involved.

absolutely Not

FVV has been a dumpster fire, back in 2019 he was unplayable vs the sixers and he has been downright
horrible with a bum knee on defense and just trash shooting from three

hes' just too small :banghead: and him being off the court is a blessing in disguise

Embiid's too good to let that happen...and I fear we wouldn't see eyeatoma or Hussein around these parts til next season...
