He generally doesn't struggle against pressure defense. It's when teams completely sag off him or he is match up with a physical specimen like trae young right under the basket that he struggles the most. If anything Simmons might have disrupted Bostons defense because he would be the one perimeter player that they would treat completely differently.
Yeah but he struggles against pressure. This series has felt like a conference finals from the beginning, and there's a ton of pressure already on KD and Nash and Irving, and everyone can feel the pressure in the building. He's not built for that kind of environment. And Boston would bully him. This isn't the series for a mentally fragile baby who hasn't played in a year.
I definitely agree, but it's essentially not the Boston defense that would be giving him fits, it be his own mind and the mentla pressure he seems to build up and put himself under. As we saw, it can literally be trae young protecting the rim that has him shook.
