If Suns knew how to make a jump shot this series would look a lot better.

The Pelicans are just the more aggressive team and giving the Suns all they can handle.

Yes that's why Suns have more points in the paint.

Please.

Pelicans don't really look like a 8 seed. They are extremely talented.

Too funny people keep talking about not being afraid of the Suns. These are professional athletes, none of them are afraid period. How absurd.

Pelicans are playing to the level they are capable of, Suns are not. Ayton only one stepping up, nobody making a shot. Crowder getting beat consistently by Ingram. Monty refusing to try to go big to clean up defensive glass.

1. Ingram's motor. As I said in that previous post, he always looked like a drifter to me when I caught him in LA, he's much more assertive than I gave him credit. Either I caught him on bad nights early in his career or he upped his effort level.
2. Valančiūnas is a very skilled big and has pretty good athleticism, very strong.
3. Team has very good rotations on both sides of the ball.

I don't understand how this team only won mid-30s games. I've seen enough of CJ in Portland to know he can't be the reason

It's definitely a thing though. Often in the playoffs you'll see an inferior team realize how outmatched they are, or how little of a chance to win they have versus a superior team. You can see the fear in their faces. Actually, the Bulls earlier today had the exact look when they realized the were hopeless against the bucks with giannis casually dominating them

I really like this Pelicans team, and I feel bad for having them outside my viewing rotation for the season. Adding CJ has really opened up Ingram's game.

They are also playing tall, and don't really care that these Suns went to the finals last year. Really damn good first round series.

This Pelicans team is fun to watch and easy to root for. Come on Zion, where you at!? During the playin I mentioned The Wolves need to beat the (Kawhi-less) Clips to secure a playoff spot ASAP because The Pelicans are scarier IMO.
